Earlier today I shared the first part of Kate & Scott’s Yarra Valley wedding, captured by Robert Hock Photography. Now it’s time for gorgeous ceremony and reception!
The couple originally planned to elope or have a destination wedding, but were so inspired by resources they found online they decided to share the occasion with their closest family and friends.

The wedding was held at ZONZO at Train Trak Winery in the Yarra Valley and guests were entertain by the strains of jazz played by the Combo Bombo Jazz Ensemble.

Kate and Scott had some unexpected visitors during their ceremony – they were joined by cows who wandered up to a nearby fence. Once the ceremony was complete the cows quietly wandered away.

The couple wrote their own vows, with Scott, a keen cyclist (though also accident prone) vowing to try and not fall off his bike.

Scott’s ring was handmade by a friend who also manufactures bikes, while Kate’s was by Jasmine Fraser

To celebrate their love of wine and to complement the winery setting, Kate & Scott had a wine ceremony performed during their ceremony to signify their coming together.

The bubbles of the wine entwines

Two hearts in love together

Friendships dearest pledge is made

In joy forever

United you shall walk through life

Sharing earth’s pain and pleasure

Hand in hand you shall strive

For achievement in life together

Should the path be rough?

Let love sustain and guide you

Should the way be strewn with roses?

Let the joy of life sustain you.

Married!

Kate’s headpiece was made by Myra from Twigs & Honey. Many of the wedding purchases were made on Etsy with the invitations being from Etsy store Parrott Design Studio.

Kate and Scott’s wedding was full of personal details. Kate’s father is a wheat farmer so each place card was a small pot of wheat grown from seed on the family farm. Centre pieces were made using Fowlers preserving jars, once owned by Kate’s grandmother which Kate found stashed away in the family farmhouse.

The cake, made by Fiona Hewitt was adorned with a cake topper bought from Pixi Boutique in Paris. The topper represented Scott’s love of cycling, the twelve months Kate spent in Paris and the white dog was similar to the couple’s beloved Samoyeds.

Zonzo prides itself on the sharing table concept. Kate and Scott served antipasto platters followed by gourmet pizzas and roast meats cooked in the wood fired oven.

Guests were asked to leave notes for the newlyweds, with starters such as “A recommendation for a romantic dinner…” and “A wish for the bride and groom…”

Kate says “It sounds cliché, but our wedding day was truly a reflection of us – we wanted to focus on good food, good wine and coming together with good friends to celebrate and confirm our relationship.”

Thank you Kate and Scott for sharing your beautiful wedding day on Polka Dot Bride! I, along with Polka Dot Bride readers wish you all the best for your marriage!
