While common in America, (I believe the Southern region) the concept of the pre wedding bridal portrait shoot is almost non existent in Australia. The bride dresses in her full wedding day attire, with flowers, makeup and jewels and her photographer takes photographs of just her. Sometimes the photo is displayed in a frame on the wedding day.
It saves time, allowing the photographer to capture the bride in her wedding day glory without the stress and rushing that might happen on the actual day.
Melanie Grizzel of She-n-he Photography & Design shared with me the bridal portrait shoot of Nancy. The shoot was a special one and included Nancy’s mother who is suffering from cancer. Nancy wanted as many photos with her mother as possible and knowing that she may be too tired on the wedding day for many photos, Nancy opted to include her mother in the shoot.
