Christmas Flowers: NSW Christmas Bush

christmas bush Christmas Flowers: NSW Christmas Bush

This spectacular plant is a shrub or a small tree. In Spring its true flowers appear – these are a creamy white and fairly small. As the flowers are pollinated, the pinky red bracts emerge holding a seed.

The combination of the pinky red bracts and creamy flowers in profusion amongst dull green leaves is a sight that is breath taking. Imagine armfuls of Christmas bush adding a cloud of colour to your tables.  Or use them in large containers to line an entrance or aisle.

These flowers would enhance a colour scheme based on browns, creams, ivories and whites, or match the colour of the flower to a fabric for bridesmaids dresses, table runners, invitations or bridal shoes.
