Lucie contacted me looking for inspiration for her eco friendly wedding. Lucie and her fiance are planning to marry in Boranup Forest outside of Perth.
Lucie’s studying naturopathy and her fiance is studying Environmental Science, so she describes their lifestyle as “ kinda hippyish but without the whole live-in-a-commune-have-dreadlocks aspect“.

Lucie and her fiance Gabe are planning to be as ecologically friendly with their wedding as possible. Invitations will be seeded paper, potted plants will be used as decorations and they’ll make use of Australia’s beautiful native flowers. Lucie loves Grecian, boho style gowns and would love to look ever so slightly ethereal her wedding day. She also loves jewel colours but is leaning towards natural greens and browns for her bridesmaids. Luci wants her to wedding to Gabe to be “natural, gorgeous, joyous”
I used colour palette of green and browns for Lucie’s wedding day, the vibrant colours come through the rich tones of the Australian natives Lucie might carry down the aisle and use in pots as decoration.
Eco style decorations like white birch candle holders to tie into the beautiful Karri Forest, dotted with natural ceramic hearts and pots of herbs or natives doubling as favors would decorate the tables. Bridesmaids in mismatched gowns of green and brown, Lucie in a soft flowing Grecian style gown with loose curls pinned up and a sweet addition such as a feather or flower. Homemade lemonade and beer, local wine and local, fresh produce may be served at the reception with a vegan friendly cake for dessert.
Dancing under the moonlight, with fairy lights strung amongst the nearby trees seems a perfect way to end Lucie and Gabe’s wedding day.

Boranup Forest is truly beautiful and it would be impossible to have a bland wedding in such a magical setting!

I was really happy to see your board as I’m also trying to blend deep jewel tones against a backdrop of natural colours.. I want to be in harmony with the native environmet but still have a splash of deep colours and its so nice to see this done well

How beautiful! Make sure to check out Etsy for bamboo and hemp silk dresses for bridesmaids or the bride. I’d be interested to know where the seeded paper is from. I didn’t know you could get it in Australia!
Oops – also forgot to say – if the venue is BYO Cullen wines are both local (from Margaret River) and biodynamic.

And although when you made this I was planning on having a hemp silk dress custom-made, I actually ended up getting a Rose and Ruby gown when they had their big sale.
I will definitely send pictures after the wedding, only 6 months to go now!
