Louise and Ross

It’s always such an honour to showcase a brand new wedding photographer’s work. Today’s wedding is the first wedding shot by photographer Louisa Bailey(who is a brilliant commercial photographer). A beautiful, Australian country wedding of Louise at Ross that took place at Boyd Baker House, just outside Melbourne, Victoria.

Eight years and 5 months ago Ross was camping with some friends at Wilson’s Prom. Early in the afternoon on the penultimate day of their week long camping trip, Louise arrived with a group of mates for a one-night stay. Fortunately for Ross, Louise was booked in to the campsite opposite his. Ross and Louise were instantly drawn to each other and to make a long story short, it wasn’t long before the two were inseparable.

Louisa says “Ross and Louise’s personalities are quite similar, especially both being quite laid-back. They really wanted their wedding day to reflect this and the Boyd Baker House was the perfect venue. The Boyd Baker House is an iconic and modern piece of architecture fitted out with stunning Scandinavian furniture, which appealed especially to Louise as she has a design background. The opened room layouts allowed for guests to relax and enjoy the day without feeling like they were stuck on one table. Later into the night, these very spaces transformed into a fun dance floor! The venue was also very accommodating as it was hired out for the whole weekend, which allowed family and close friends to stay and celebrate well into the night.”

As a graphic designer, (Louise Jones Design) Louise was able to do a lot of DIY for the wedding. She designed the invites, the table settings, programs and bonbonnieres. Louise chose a gown by Australian designer Yeojin Bae and accessorised with a Ward & Wylie feather hairpiece and shoes by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. She wore a drop pendant and earrings from Dinosaur Designs. Her styled hair and makeup look was created by Hayley Mac.

Beautiful Australian native bouquets were designed by Glasshaus Nursery and featured a King Protea, echoing the strong lines of Louise’s gown. Louise’s sister wore a red dress, cinched at the waist with a belt- both by Gorman.
