Felicity and Scott
A simply sweet engagement session for you to enjoy today- to round off another week and cap it off with a set of beautiful images with a very in love couple. Today’s shoot comes to us from Milena of I Love Wednesdays and captures the engagement of Felicity and Scott.
Felicity tells the story of her and Scott’s relationship. “Scott and I met while we were both studying at the Sydney Conservatory of Music – Scott played jazz saxophone and I, classical violin. When we met we were like two magnets and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’ve been together for six and a half years. I was only 19 at the time and had never been in love, however the attraction was instant and I knew almost instantly we’d be together forever. One of the poems we chose for our wedding invitation is from Winnie the Pooh and is a beautiful reflection on our relationship. ‘Wherever I am there’s always Pooh, there’s always Pooh and me’. Scott and I are like two peas in a pod.
Two and a half years ago Scott proposed to me in the Royal Botanic Gardens, behind the Conservatory of Music. Here we used to sit in between uni classes, drinking coffee and enjoying each other’s company. It was on this same park bench we used to frequent that Scott proposed. The proposal was simple and heartfelt. He got down on one knee in front of all the joggers and tourists walking by, there was even a helicopter hovering above! He asked ‘Will you be my wife?’ After the proposal we wandered down to the Waterfront Restaurant, Circular Quay for an amazing if not surreal dinner. It was a beautiful way to continue one of the best days of my life.
If I am asked to describe what it is I love about Scott, it is not one thing, it is all the little things: The way he makes me coffee every morning, the way he holds my hand when we cross the street, the way he sounds when he laughs and the first thing he does when we wake up each morning, he looks across at me and smiles.
We met Milena over coffee and the three of us clicked. She was genuinely interested in us as a couple and keen to hear our story. I explained to her that I wasn’t a fan of posed engagement photos, I wanted her to capture us as we are naturally. For the engagement shoot we trekked through the bush headlands around Chowder Bay, discussing everything from hobbits to hasselblads. The resulting photos are very ‘us’. I particularly like the candid shots where we weren’t aware we were being photographed. She captured the moments and the moments in between.”
