Jo & Dion

I feel like today is the day to don a party dress, grab some friends and spend the night twirling on the dance floor- which is pretty much exactly what Jo & Dion did for their Fremantle art gallery wedding! Jo wore a stunning knee length gown and the couple spent the day together before marrying right before their reception (love that idea!)

Photos today are by Michelle Kiddie Photography. I love the fun and carefree nature of Michelle’s photos today- there’s a little bit of magic in each one!

Michelle says ” After hair and make-up I photographed them getting ready together, which I thought was really sweet, especially when Dion said he would have been too nervous to get ready without Jo.”

After they dressed (Jo wore a knee length Rachel Gilbert gown (called ‘Whitney’).) The couple headed out with their photographer for some pre wedding photographs.

Jo and Dion mixed their ceremony into their reception. Michelle recalls “The ceremony itself was in the courtyard of the Moores Contemporary Art Gallery, at 6.30pm. This is such a great spot for a ceremony  – guests gathered around under fairy lights and candles as the last of the daylight gave way to the stars. Jo and Dion waited in the upstairs gallery until the guests had all arrived and then walked downstairs together to see all their guests waiting for them to say ‘I do’! ”

The beautiful ceremony was over by 7pm, including speeches, so the couple could get on with celebrating and dancing with their guests against a back drop of contemporary art work and the smooth funk sounds from the live band. Cocktail food and drinks were served by Moore&Moore, (which is the funky café inside the art gallery that serves some of the best coffee and food in Fremantle when it’s open in the daytime).

Jo and Dion hired a live funk band to get their guests on the dance floor.

Congratulations to Jo & Dion on their wedding! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Michelle Kiddie for sharing the photographs!
