Amy and Andy

This morning’s wedding feels like I’ve stepped into a mystical wonderland- well to be exact, it feels like I’ve stepped into the set of Alice In Wonderland.

Amy recalls how she and Andy met. “We went to high school together although we never talked! We didn’t get together until 5 years later, and our first conversation never ended.”

This morning’s photographs are by Jessica Tremp of Brown Paper Parcel Photography. Jessica has put such a magical, mystical take on her photographs – she has an intense artistic feel to her work.

Amy and Andy were married at a beautiful home in Dardanup, Western Australia where the grounds were filled with sculptures. Amy says  “Artists Linda Skrolys and Russell Sheridan are close friends of the family who kindly offered their amazing gardens for our wedding. The gardens house beautiful sculptures, ponds, freshwater pool beautiful tall gums and a date palm aisle, perfect for walking down!”

Amy recalls, “I stayed with my family in a farm homestead called the Dell leading up to the wedding, which was so nice to bond, laugh and prepare for the wedding together. It really was an’ all hands on deck’ kind of family affair, and I really loved how much every one really wanted to be involved. It is such a nice feeling to have the people you love so happy about who you are marrying!”

Amy wore a gown from Galleria Couture while her bridesmaids wore gowns of their choosing from Review, Camilla and Marc and Forever New. Amy says ” I let the girls pick their own dress, I wanted them to feel comfortable and wear something they would want to wear.” The flowers were styled by Amy’s mum and sister.

Amy walked down the aisle to a a friend’s voice. “A friend of mine, April Conway sang “Sweet Baby” by Macy Gray”.

The style of the wedding was themed around Alice In Wonderland. Amy explains “My idea for the wedding invite was the Ace of Hearts being our initials, so this quirky ‘Alice In Wonderland meets country garden’ was the theme for the day. Myself and my mum collected lanterns for the trees, hung Mexican wedding garlands and the letter A, each table was a number from the hearts suit in a deck of cards and a rabbit was on each table.”

Sweet treats were made by loved ones. ” Cathy Garbin, my Auntie made Love Cakes, Tess Pusey, a family friend made a macadamia nut and date cake, Helen Tricilo, a family friend made chocolate brownies. It was such a nice personal touch to the wedding having these women who are very important to both Andy and I making the wedding cakes.”

Dancing kept the guests up all night with jazz band Sway, but the first dance? That was something special to “L.O>V>E” by Peggy Sue.

Congratulations Amy and Andy! Thank you for sharing your wedding day today on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to Jessica Tremp of Brown Paper Parcel Photography for today’s images!
