Rebekah and Odyn

A garden wedding is always so special – I think its the mix of Mother Nature with the celebration of love – the smiles, the hugs and the delicious food all against the green and blue backdrop. Today’s couple Rebekah and Odyn held a relaxed wedding in the gardens of a beautiful homestead in Maleny. Their celebration as casually beautiful.

Rebekah and Odyn met at church on the music team and when Odyn returned from America where he had been living for four years, the couple rekindled their relationship. The rest, as they say, is fate.

Today’s wedding is captured by Matt & Katie Photographers who look like they would make having your picture taken so much fun while still being completely unobtrusive.

Rebekah and Odyn held their ceremony and reception at Roseville House in Maleny.

Odyn wore a chocolate brown suite hired from Strictly Formal.

Rebekah and Odyn met prior to the ceremony to have photos taken together. They walked down the “aisle” together. Rebecca wore a stunning gown created by Nelder Jones with a bouquet  by Arlene Dodson (07) 3398 6383. Her makeup was by Tracey Baker & Hair by Odette Lithgow from Matisse Art For Hair.

Rebekah and Odyn walked down the aisle together to the gazebo in the back gardens of the venue.

During the ceremony, Odyn performed for his bride.

Rebekah’s bridesmaids wore pink gowns from Valleygirl and shoes from Nu. The flower girls wore dresses from Pumpkin Patch. Rebekah sewed antique lace and ribbons onto the dresses to personalise them.

And then as husband and wife, the newlyweds performed a duet.

The relaxed nature of the day continued to the reception. There was no first dance, instead Rebekah and Odyn mingled with guests in the gardens while friends catered hors d’oeuvres and set up a chocolate fountain.

Friends were very involved with the wedding. A family friend made the wedding cake, another made the favors and yet another handmade the stationery for the day.

The one formality was cutting the cake. Rebekah says “It was special leaving out the arduous formalities of people having to wait for hours whilst you go away and have photos taken,  no speeches and no seated formal set meals. Short and sweet – everyone raved about it.”

Rebekah says “The weather was incredible. The photography incorporating the picturesque surroundings really captured the ‘realness’ of our wedding day.”>
