Karen and Phillip

There’s no doubt in my mind that I am freezing.  So offering up a little light relief from what is going to be a cold winter, i thought today was the perfect day to share this fresh, summery Melbourne engagement shoot captured by Luma Photo of Karen and Phillip.

Philip explains how he met Karen. “We met through mutual friends about 4 and a half years ago. The first time I met Karen, I’d just been for a skate with a mate, went back to his share-house, and there was Karen hanging out with some friends at the house. I was really sweaty at the time, but fortunately I guess it didn’t put her off! A week later, there was a small gathering at the same house and Karen happened to be there! I was stoked! Karen and I had a few drinks and we spent the rest of the night drawing together (we’re both passionate about drawing- she’s an interior designer, I’m a graphic designer). The following week was Karen’s birthday, so I bought her some magic markers and metallic paint as a present. She loved it! From that point on, we spent lots of time just hanging out and drawing. Several months into our relationship, we had a fight, but we managed to work it out fairly quickly. After the fight we said “I love you” to each other for the first time. It was then that we realised we could work out almost any problem as a couple and I knew that I wanted to spent the rest of my life with Karen.”
