On a sunny Sunday in March I attended The Wine Suites’ Boutique Bridal Show at Manly Wine. There I got to check out this venue for the very first time, meet some lovely wedding professionals (including Kristi Bonnici, who we’ve written about here) and sip on champagne. I know… what a tough job!

Funky, fresh and fabulous is how I would describe The Wine Suites. This is definitely a reception venue for beach-loving couples or for those who want something vibrant and a little bit different from your standard black and white affair. The first thing you notice when you walk into The Wine Suites is how light, open and airy it is. Then that incredible view of Manly Beach will capture your attention. These two elements work well together as the space draws the outside in.  There’s also loads of verandah space for guests to wander out onto to bask in the sunshine and the cool sea breeze. You’ll also notice their playful colour scheme – this space can really pull off a mix of animal prints and florals.

What I also like about The Wine Suites is that you can also have your ceremony on the adjoining terrace. Unfortunately you don’t get an ocean view from here but it still is very pretty and quite intimate. It’s also a really neutral space so you could get creative with your chairs and decorations to inject your personality into it.

Manly Wine is flexible in the way you want to use the space too. You can choose to hire the entire Wine Suites (which sits up to 120 and stands up to 250), or if you’re having a more intimate wedding/reception, you might decide to go with just The Beach Suites (facing onto Manly Beach – sits 40-80 and stands 75-150) or The Terrace Suites (at the rear of The Wine Suites – sits up to 90 and stands up to 150).

As for accommodation, The Sebel is conveniently located right next door. This is perfect for guests coming from far away, and for the bride and groom – imagine waking up to the sun rising over Manly Beach the morning after your wedding!

The team at Manly Wine describes The Wine Suites as being, “A fresh new approach for the modern bride” and that sums up this venue to a T! I think this venue best suits a smaller crowd to keep the space feeling open (plus there will be more room for your guests to party on the dance floor!) I also think it would be the perfect place to wine and dine after a fun, relaxed beach ceremony. For places nearby, check out Manly’s page on Beach Brides.
