An afternoon in the sunshine, bare feet, long wisps of hair, beaded beauties and masses of flowers. Today’s inspiration shoot from from Perth/Canada event planner and stylist Crystal Adair-Benning of Distinct Occasions who was inspired by the natural Australian landscape – perfect for her bohemian wedding style.

Crystal teamed up with photographers Dave & Charlotte and florist AcScent Interiors to create today’s inspiring shoot. Crystal says “Spending over half my year traveling and working abroad on beautiful weddings and brag worthy wedding proposals I was inspired by the casual elegance of Australia to create this shoot. To me, it felt there was nothing more perfectly Aussie than a gorgeous sunset and a picnic. This shoot was designed to be either a casual yet elegant wedding reception or a beautiful romantic wedding proposal. I wanted to showcase the natural landscape of Australia with the often beautiful Balinese influences I find here.”

“I utilized a gorgeous low Balinese wood coffee table and vintage desk for a sweet display and seating. A sea grass rug, some handmade pillows, and more wood details spoke volumes.”

“The sweet display was all handmade using local Australian ingredients and recipes.”

“I particularly loved the inspiration using fabric to soften the look and add a more casual handmade feeling to the look.”

Crystal hired a VW Kombi van from Kuste Kombis to end the shoot.  “The VW was a perfect touch of whimsy and beach-chic style to go from reception/proposal to a night on the town. I just loved how the natural landscape and culture of living and being in Australia felt when translated into a wedding day or proposal look.”
