Good morning Dotties! What did you get up to this weekend? Are you ready for another week full to the brim of wedding inspiration? I certainly am!

First things first though, our Monday morning tradition of telling you about our fantastic vendors in Ms Polka Dot’s Directory is underway! We’re constantly impressed by the talent of our advertisers here at Polka Dot Bride- the amazing cakes, the stunning bouquets, the gowns- and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! We’re lucky to be working with some of best wedding professionals in not only Australia but the world and with a little patriotic spirit, we could not be more proud to be Australian! Visit Ms Polka Dot’s Directory and check out our members to find the ‘polkadotrific’ vendors who will help your wedding day be wonderfully you.

Today’s vendor of the week is Sass Studios. Sometimes I think Queensland photographers are amongst the luckiest in the world – the atmosphere, the relaxed nature and the oh so beautiful landscapes are really something special. Today’s photographers, Ben & Cath of Sass Studios are pretty awesome at capturing the tropical mood and nature of Queensland weddings. Ben & Cath aim to work unobtrusively on your wedding day – just capturing natural, candid moments of your day (and that they do, the amount of candid photos on their website is one of my favourite parts!)

To learn a little more about Sass Studios we asked Cath and Ben five questions in five minutes!

What is your favourite after five drink?

Cath – Champas, preferably French but one can’t be too fussy. Ben – Mojitos

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Ben – On boat near island, fishing rod in hand. Cath – On island, near boat, cocktail in hand.

Favourite restaurant?

Cath – Still Water Mooloolaba. Ben –  Huongs Westend

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Ben – One of Cath’s incredible creations. Cath – one of Cath’s incredible creations.

Your favourite wedding story?

Cayne and Andrea at the Manley Manor – One of the most beautiful weddings we’ve been to had an incredible story leading up to it. Cayne’s mum lost her battle to cancer in the months before the wedding followed by his Dad being diagnosed. The floods then hit South East Queensland devastating the homes and lives of many of their close family and friends between Brisbane and Toowoomba. They postponed the wedding but had to take the prebooked honeymoon in Egypt – just in time for a revolution. They made it out alive and finally to one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve ever seen. Cayne’s Dad danced the night away yet sadly passed away just weeks after.

I remember hearing the term “it’s just stuff” quite a few times during their beautiful day from family who had lost everything. A term we should all remind ourselves of from time to time.
