Rob and Hanna

I had a stroke in November last year, so it was really important to me to show the world that I loved Rob for sticking by me through that! Ours was the best wedding, I’m sure you hear that all the time, but we got lots of compliments! A friend – Ainsley Deans did our invitations, which looked great and we got a lot of compliments about them!

Our wedding was not all smooth sailing, the original reception place sent us an email saying they were selling and weren’t confirming any bookings. But it worked out for the best, because our photographer recommended Del Los Santos, a Spanish restaurant, and it was perfect! The first bridesmaid dresses I ordered online and they didn’t fit, so we had to buy some more 2 weeks before the wedding! I wore orange Ralph Lauren heels at the ceremony, but changed into flats for the reception! Hayley Broomhill-Turvey ([email protected])  did mine and my mum and MIL’s make-up. My bridesmaids did their own hair and make-up!

For my bouquet I asked all the guests to bring a flower and had a friend put them together before I arrived … they looked amazing!

The ceremony was at an aboriginal art gallery called Ochre Gallery in Collingwood, Melbourne and I walked down the aisle to Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes, which was my dad’s favourite song. As my dad died 6 years ago, it was like a tribute to him! We had Mark Doggett as our celebrant and he was great!

I can’t say enough about our photographer, Justin Hill from Dekuji Photography! He was an amazing person and we love the photos!

While we were off having photos, everyone had food and drinks at the gallery and we had two young guys playing acoustic guitar for entertainment. They had played at a friend’s wedding and we really liked them, so we decided to have them at our reception.

My favourite memories? I have two! Saying my vows (which I practised a lot in therapy!) to Rob and looking around the restaurant and realising that our band – The Baker Boys – had got everyone up dancing!

Ms Gingham says: I love the idea of gathering flowers from guests to make your bouquet and didn’t they look amazing!! I would have to get a florist to be there on the day to make sure they don’t fall apart though! Thanks to Hanna and Rob for sharing their beautiful day with us.

Hanna says: “One of my favourite things was my bouquet, I asked all the guests to bring a flower and had a friend put them together just before the ceremony! They looked great! And matched our ceremony setting quite well!”
