Michael and Brittany

First, let me start off by saying that I never imagined myself meeting someone, getting engaged, and married all in one year. I never really understood people who didn’t drag it all out longer just to be sure, but now I do. When you know, you know… and when I met Michael at the beginning of the year, I knew he was the one for me.

We met at work in the supply closet one day and have been inseparable ever since. He took me on a surprise vacation to Europe a few months later and proposed while we were in Milan. We had been wandering around sightseeing for a few hours and ended up in an incredible garden when Michael decided he couldn’t wait any longer (apparently he had been carrying the ring around in his pocket for 3 days). I was picking a flower and when I turned around he was on the ground… with a box! At first I thought it was a tease or something, but then he started saying a bunch of really sweet things and I knew it was real. Apparently after he asked I just stared with my mouth open and gave him a huge hug. He had to repeat the question again because I was so excited that I forgot to say “yes.” Can’t say I ever imagined that fairytale moment either.

Michael makes all of my biggest dreams come true, even ones that I didn’t dare to dream for myself. Case and point, we picked up and moved to Australia a few months ago from Texas. I still can’t believe it, but here we are far from home just the two of us, soaking in all of the adventures and memories. Since we are spending our engagement in this lovely country we really wanted to take advantage and capture it in our photographs. Brett Hartwig of Archie Five Photography took us out to the McLaren Vale area and was able to capture some memories that we will cherish forever.

I can’t wait for our happily ever after moment on January 7th back home in Texas!

Ms Gingham says: Beautiful photography. I love the last image of Brittany, Michael and their canine companion in front of the sunset. Thanks to Brittany for sharing and we wish you all the best for your wedding in January.

Brittany says: “I moved to Australia this year from Texas and am loving the adventure. I am really enjoying planning my upcoming wedding to the sweetest man alive. I love DIY projects, reusable/green projects, and creating things on a budget. I love everything about weddings and this is one of the best times of my life.”
