Ash and Ashley

Weddings in the most tropical of places are always incredible. It’s like the relaxed air seeps into everybody’s pores and the day becomes a beautiful holiday! Today’s wedding, taking place in Airlie Beach, Whitsundays is one of tropical splendor.

Ashley says, “We met on RSVP.  I was getting lonely on my travels and decided to try something new!”

Today’s sunny wedding photos are by Sally Goodall who has captured the sunshine and holiday feel of today’s wedding with such grace and light.

Ashely wore the Evelyn  gown by Maggie Sottero and paired it with shoes from Nine West by Enzo Angiolini.  Flower Hut created the beautiful floral arrangements. Melina Faine, a friend of the bride’s styled the hair and makeup of the bridal party and helped style the wedding.

Ash and Ashley held their ceremony and reception at the Whitsunday Yacht Club.

Ashley’s bridesmaids wore knee length, mint green lace gowns from Whistles with shoes from ASOS. Ashley says “I hired white lace vintage umbrellas for my bridesmaids which were cheaper than bouquets and looked fab on the photo!”

Kim Kirkhman played ‘Canon In D’ as Ashley walked down the aisle. The couple were married by Kieran McCarthy.

Of their day, Ash says “It was everything we could have wished for and more!”

The reception was held at the same venue, Whitsunday Yacht Club. Adding to the clear crystals which glittered in the tropical sunlight, Ashely personalised the reception with photos. She explains “I had black and white photos of both our parents’ wedding days in vintage white frames on the top table and also photos of Ash and I when we were younger.”

The silver and white cake was made by Cakes In Costume.

Ashley and Ash had many guests fly in from England and South Africa. Ashley recalls “My uncle Derek flew from England for the wedding and during his speech he got Ash (Groom) to do a one armed press up as an initiation to my family as it was a tradition of my late grandfather that when a male joined our family he had to be able to do this first!”

For their first dance, Ashley says “We were locked to each other and it felt magical. We danced to ‘More Than Words Can Say’ by Extreme.” DJ L.A Walker kept the tunes flowing for their eager guests.

There was a final nod to Ashley’s heritage at the end of the night. She recalls ” I supplied the black and white old fashioned fish and chip cartons which we ate our fish and chips out of on the night time which was very English as that’s where I’m from.”

Congratulations Ashley and Ash on your marriage! Thank you for sharing your wedding with us! Thank you also to Sally Goodall for sharing today’s images!
