Bridal shows, pre wedding parties, hens parties, whatever you may call them are the perfect excuse for a dress up and catch up with your favourite friends. The lovely Lyn of Rosebud Designs recently held a girls’ luncheon for her birthday party and I thought it made beautiful inspiration for your own pre wedding party! Held at the Agapé Organic Restaurant & Bar in Sydney, Lyn invited Milk & Honey Photography along to capture the event!

Lyn says “Birthdays are the perfect excuse to throw a party. This year I wanted to celebrate with my girlfriends, frock up and indulge in a day of Organic High Tea, sweet and savory delights at my restaurant Agapé. With the venue decided I just had to lock in the ever so talented  Anni from Milk and Honey Photography to forever place the memories and details into photos to treasure. We have worked together on a few events and knew she would capture the day beautifully.”

“As a stylist and collector of vintage props, dresses, jewelry and pretties the stage was set for a fabulous afternoon soirée with the girls! The girls arrived to organic blackberry fizz cocktails and organic baby spelt zucchini, caramelised onion and stilton pizzas. Just delicious and made with love by my brother organic Chef Simon Lawson. It was a family affair as my sister Kathryn frocked up and served us for the day.”

“We had so much fun with Anni, making us feel very relaxed and comfortable we barely noticed she was there! I have two very camera shy friends who loved every minute. One of my favourite pics was our ‘Vanity Fair’ photo-shoot as we draped ourselves over the lounges. As you do!”

“When I designed the interiors of Agape I wanted it to feel like the comfort and warmth of being at home, enveloping diners and wrapping them up with love (the meaning of agapé  is God’s unconditional love). Beautiful soft furnishings, drapery, chandeliers and lots of candles. In the lounge bar the furniture and design details were collected over time to create an eclectic corner with each piece telling a story. I am still adding to the ‘collection’!”

“I love the contrast of the rustic wood and earthy colours of Agapé and throwing in splashes of colour. So I went with a pale pink and aqua colour palette. Adding pops of colour on the table with the wonderful colours of spring. My favourite flowers, roses and hydrangeas were in abundance at the flower markets so I was in pure girly heaven.”

It was the perfect party surrounded by my girlfriends, and my two passions, organic food and styling.
Now to start dreaming of ideas for the next celebration…..”
