I always loved fonts but I never loved them as much as I do now that I’ve started this column- each font I profile tells a story and leads me on a path of imagination to what it might become. Alana is an elegant, simple script font with so many possibilities. A Sunday lunch event by the river, a cocktail party with a whimsical touch of coloured flowers and chalkboard, a wedding under the dappled shade of a fig tree. It has a mix of elegance and whimsy, a sense of tradition without being too stuffy.
