Happy Monday Dotties! Are you enjoying the change in season (wherever you may be?) or do you hate it? I love Winter! Nothing makes me happier than boots, cardigans and fluffy socks!

Before we get into the week, let’s take a peek at one of our beautifully talented members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory

Beautiful photography never fails to suck me in, which is why I am delighted to introduce Queensland photography studio Shutter + Lace Photography to you today! Owner Lillie captures candid moments, the crinkly nose laughter, the looks of shock and surprise. But she also captures stunning portraits making use of her surroundings – urban splendor, Mother Nature’s beauty and rolling waves on deserted beaches. It’s the moments in between the big ones that are important and I love seeing the full day in it’s glory as Lillie captures it.

We asked Lillie at Shutter + Lace Photography five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?
Burnt Orange Cosmo – sooo delicous!

Your favourite weekend getaway?
Being a Wedding Photographer there are not many weekends I can get away – however when I can, Airlie Beach would have to be my all time favourite. Summit Apartments is a great place to stay with views out into the harbour (affordable too), and you can’t go past the food at Capers.

Favourite restaurant?
Mecca Bah at The Emporium in Fortitude Valley. Yummy Morrocan/Middle Eastern cuisine – which also has restaurants in other parts of Australia.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
I’m not really a breaky person – but I can’t go past freshly ground coffee (brewed by my gorgeous boyfriend) as the perfect start to my Sunday.

Your favourite wedding story?
Each love story of my couples is so unique – however a very memorable moment happened recently at the wedding of Lauren & Josh. The ceremony took place in a large church, Southside Brisbane. The mood in the church was very light hearted – I have never seen a couple (or their guests) laugh so much during a ceremony. As the couple were about to be pronounced husband and wife, the vicar remembered he hadn’t instructed them to exchange rings! Even though the ceremony didn’t quite go to plan – I hope the moment will bring a wide smile to their faces when they look back on it.
