When I got the latest look books from the George Gross, G2 By George Gross and Harry Who collections I thought the items made really stylish mother of the bride outfits. Mother of the bride outfits are always thought of as having a certain “look” even my own mother and I have come to call “so mother of the bride”.

I think a key part to not looking ‘mumsy’ and keeping your look stylish is to mix textures and colours so rather than be in the one fabric and styling from head to toe, you mix complementary colours and patterns and choose really beautiful accessories.

Double faced satin cami in stone by George Gross, Multi tweed jacket with fringe in pearl by George Gross, New York Kiss earrings in Rose by Samantha Wills, satin skirt in stone by George Gross.

This look is completely classic to me – the tweed jacket reminds me of the classic nature of Chanel but with a modern twist and keeping the one colour tone underneath, with bold earrings, keeps it fresh and modern.

Double faced satin skirt in black by George Gross, Tuxedo necklace from Tilkah, Macrame lace top by Harry Who, Brocade jacket in pearl by George Gross

Stylish black never goes out of style and this look plays up the drama with the big, bold collar on the unusually cut jacket. The textures are mixed from the silk skirt, to the intricate lace on the macrame lace top to the big bold black necklace.

Linen pant in wheat by G2 By George Gross, Jenice Swarovski earrings by Pater Lang, Double faced satin cami in pearl by George Gross, Metallic lace jacket in stone by George Gross

I love this outfit for a twist on pretty. The lace top is such a statement piece on its own that I pared it down with plain, well cut pants in a similar colour and sparkly earrings. It’s pretty without being overly girly. Switching it up with a flippy skirt could make it a little more formal and traditional.

This look is completely modern and on trend with the military styling that is hitting stores, but it also has a classic sense to it. The rich olive green paired with a neutral wheat coloured jacket and a little burst of colour in the huge cocktail ring pull the outfit together. I love beautiful, well cut pants at formal occasions like weddings for someone that isn’t comfortable in a skirt.

Plain stretch embroidered jacket in silver by Harry Who, Brocade skirt in navy by George Gross, Brocade top in navy by George Gross, silver heels by Florsheim

Navy is such a nice choice if you’re not one to wear black and I love it paired with the unusual detailing on the silver jacket. Keeping the colour the same for the bulk of your outfit and adding a neutral but beautiful piece like the jacket always seems to work. Paired with shiny silver shoes and a beautiful piece of jewellery this look is stylish and pulled together.

Satin jacket in Stone by George Gross, Double faced satin cap sleeve dress by George Gross,  Lourdes earrings by Samantha Wills

This look is simple and sleek. A well cut double sided satin dress with a beautiful oyster coloured jacket. It’s simple, comfortable and stylish. But most of all, it’s elegant.  Jewelled art deco style earrings add a bit of sparkle and glamour to the outfit.
