Sophie & Trevor

What a dream to travel half way around the world and marry in an exotic setting! Today’s Sydney couple took guests from all over the world- including Australia, England, Wales & Spain and married in Ravello, Italy! The couple met in Kirribilli- where they still live today and decided a destination wedding was for them.

Photographs today are by Photography By Jules  an Italian based wedding photographer, the photographs are so beautiful, showing so much Italian beauty.

Sophie remembers, ” Our wedding planner, Francesca from Our Boutique Wedding organised our photographer, legal paper work, flowers, hair & make up for the bride & some guests, music & ceremony venue.”

There were plenty of special traditions Sophie incorporated into the wedding day. She recalls, “Something old – Trevor knew I had been looking for a silver clutch for the wedding. One day he came home with a vintage Swarovski miniature bag which I thought was just perfect for our wedding day! Something new – my Marchesa dress of course! Something borrowed – I borrowed a pearl necklace from my mum which was wrapped around my bouquet. Something blue – this is a secret! And a silver sixpence in her shoe – my mum surprised me with a Victorian silver sixpence on the wedding day which I placed inside my shoe.”

For their ceremony, Sophie says, “We used the garden in the town hall of Ravello (Belvedere Principessa di Piemonte) for the ceremony which looked out onto the ocean.”

Sophie walked down the aisle to Canon in D ( Harp and Violin). Sophie wore a gorgeous Marchesa gown from Helen Rodrigues.

Sophie says, “We really didn’t know what to expect when we started planning our destination wedding with our wedding planner, Francesca. We arrived a few days before the wedding and couldn’t believe how beautiful Ravello was, no words can describe the beauty of this little Italian town. Despite the 42 degree heat, the wedding day was perfect. The mayor of Ravello married us in the afternoon and the setting was just beautiful.”

Italian lane ways provided the most beautiful backdrop for photographs, Sophie recalls. “We were hesitant to make the trek to Villa Cimbrone to have our wedding photos taken but we are so glad that we did. Villa Cimbrone is a historic building which has gardens open to the public & stunning scenery of Amalfi. Some of our favourite shots were taken here.”

Celebrations continued well into the evening, Sophie remembers. “Afterwards we had cocktails/reception at the Palazzo Sasso, which was also the hotel we stayed at. Later on we had dinner at Rossellini’s which is a Michelin restaurant at the Palazzo Sasso over looking the breath taking Amalfi Coastline.”

Congratulations Sophie and Trevor! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Photography By Jules for sharing today’s photographs and Francesca from Our Boutique Wedding for sharing today’s wedding!
