Datsun & Callie

The wedding of Datsun and Callie is a gorgeous one- held in the Adelaide Hills at Callie’s parent’s home it has a whimsical, sweet relaxed feeling. Plenty of tradition but plenty of twists and turns that reflected Datsun and Callie.Which really, is what it’s all about!

Datsun and Callie tell their story. “The newlyweds met at a pub called the Grace Emily, and after many hours of talking the bride still didn’t provide a phone number for the eager groom. A couple nights later, Datsun heard from a friend that Callie was out, Datsun then ran to the pub but alas, too late. She was already gone but had told a friend where she had gone. This friend refused to tell Datsun as he was feeling a little bit thirsty and thus made Datsun buy him a pint. After that, the friend finally revealed where Callie had gone and Datsun rushed over to the World’s End where he promptly and sheepishly approached Callie and finally got her number! ”

Andre Elhay captured today’s wedding in a dreamy. beautiful way with plenty of grace.

Datsun wore a Hugo Boss suit.

The wedding happened in Aldgate, in the Adelaide Hills in Autumn.  Callie says “The venues used were the firing range from the night before the wedding, Callie’s parent’s home in the Adelaide Hills where the wedding took place, to the after ceremony photos and finally the reception.”

Callie says “We walked down the aisle to live harp music played by Emma Horwood.”

Callie loved “Wearing the clothes we wanted to wear, rather than the traditional black tux and white dress .” Callie chose a floor length Alannah Hill My beautiful life clip gown.

Callie remarks “There was a Chinese Tea Ceremony part to the wedding which we incorporated into the slightly more traditional wedding ceremony. It worked perfectly!”

The wedding cake was a series of tiers of handmade pink cakes.

Guests wrote well wishes on paper leaves.

Of their photographer, Callie says “The photographer for our wedding was Andre Elhay, who enthusiastically worked all day with the guests. Everyone loved him and how comfortable he made them feel. The photos were exceptional!”

After the ceremony, the bridal party headed to Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens for the wedding photos.

Datsun and Callie held their reception at  The Beijing restaurant.
