Being a wedding photographer based in the heart of Europe I am lucky enough to be able to jump on a plane, or even drive for that matter, and be strolling around a new country within a few hours. I have been blessed with having photographed many beautiful weddings in different parts of Europe and would love to share a few of my favourites.

1. Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca is one of my favorite islands. You have everything –  great weather, guaranteed sunshine, beautiful beaches, mountains, olive trees, finca’s and quaint villages.

2. Santorini, Greece

Nothing can beat Santorini. The setting is just spectacular and it’s one of the best places in the world to experience the perfect sunset.

3. Prague, Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is full of fairytale castles and Prague is a firm favourite for many destination weddings and elopements.

4. Zell am See, Austria

For a traditional Austrian feel I recommend one of the many lakes Austria has to offer. Zell am See is my favorite as it is surrounded by mountains for great skiing in winter and in summer you can still go skiing on the glacier that remains frozen.

5. Alps

The Alps offer great winter destinations for those wanting a magical winter wonderland setting. Go skiing or snowboarding for your after-wedding shoot!

6. Switzerland

Switzerland has it all with incredibly beautiful countryside, mountains and lakes.  My favourite is Ascona in the Italian part and Blausee in the German speaking part.

7. Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik has a very unique old town and there are some lovely villa’s along the coast line for outdoor receptions. With guaranteed sunshine and good weather it’s another great location for a seaside wedding.

8. Italy

Italy has so much to offer from the lakes in the north, to Tuscany and its rolling hills down to the Amalfi coast, and onto Sicily in the deep south. Take your pick!

9. Vienna, Austria

I could not end my list without mentioning the very city where I live. Vienna has some exquisite venues and sums up the words ‘opulance’ and ‘imperial’.  It is not uncommon to be taken around  by horse and carriage and you can’t help but feel like the Empress Sissi!

Ms Gingham says: I know that everyone in Europe insists that Australia is just as stunning but I can’t help but feel a little like I want to jump on a plane right now after seeing these images!! Beautiful!

About Claire of Claire Morgan Photography: I moved to Europe when I was 19, living first in London, then moving to Paris two years later. My journals were filled with photos capturing the adventure, and it was here that I began to pursue a more serious interest in photography. My own unique style began to take shape, and it was when I finally settled in Vienna, that the world of wedding photography opened up to me. I finally discovered a passion very close to my heart.
