Jason and I got married on the 30th August 2003 . It was a simple but special day with many memories… the most memorable was the ceremony. This is why I am a marriage celebrant and have been for a few years now. To us, the main reason for having a wedding celebration, was to celebrate it with a ceremony of our own, that was special to us. Things may go wrong on your day which cannot be helped, but when it comes down to it, you are getting married and the wedding is a celebration of your union. Remember that- it doesn’t matter what happens on the day, you’re there to marry the love of your life and have a continued union together after the big day.

Jason and I decided long ago we would renew our vows for our ten year wedding anniversary. We are like 2 peas in a pod and very much alike. So, we are having our function in August this year at the wonderful All Smiles of the Yarra Valley and celebrating our continued union as a married couple in front of close family and friends. We are having a fun, relaxed and colourful theme with half the amount of guests we had at our wedding. We plan to write our own vows and celebrate with a bit of dancing like we did at our wedding!

I’m currently waiting for my dress to arrive which I’m hoping will fit! If not, I have got a back up. I was contemplating wearing my wedding dress again as it still fits me, but as our theme is a bit quirky this time, I opted to buy a different dress. The colours we are having are green, orange and plum. Luckily, Jason and I both have the same tastes in pretty much everything….

We have ordered our cake from Fantasy Cakes as Jessica was one of my 2012 brides who I have got to know really well. They do amazing creations!

So at the moment, I’m still busy marrying off some lovely couples but also enjoying putting together our own ceremony which I have just started writing.

I’m really looking forward to sharing the photos with you after our function!

Best wishes to all the brides and grooms to be!

Ms Gingham says: Renewing your vows is such a great idea! Excellent excuse for a celebration and a way to relive your wedding joy! I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

About Karine Hart: “I’ve been a marriage celebrant since 2008 and love what I do. I enjoy meeting with new couples and hearing their love stories to then produce a ceremony that suits their personality and style. Everyone’s different, and that’s what I love about being a celebrant. I get to hear a variety of stories and then get to create something special for their big day.”
