Hello everyone,

I am the designer of a couture wedding gown label called Sarah Alice Andrews – Bridal Couturier Sarah Alice Andrews. Being in the wedding industry I get to see so many vendors and ideas, so I was excited to be asked by Ms Gingham to share with you some of my favourite wedding vendors of all time.. So here’s my top 6!

1. My favourite photographer of all time: Robin of Foster Photography. In all my time in the fashion and bridal industry, I have worked with a lot of photographers and seen a lot of images! and Robin is the most talented by far I have ever worked with. I just adore how she can pose and frame her subjects in such a natural and beautiful way – even if you’re a bit awkward in front of the camera! Robin is based in Brisbane but is available for interstate and overseas weddings.

2. Viktoria Novak. If you need a beautiful couture head piece to match your wedding gown, I definitely recommend Viktoria. Her head pieces are so incredibly detailed – and being a designer myself I really appreciate how much work is involved in each piece she creates. She makes other kinds of bridal and bridesmaid accessories too – so have a look at her website for more images. Image by Elanna Woods Photography

3. Another cute vendor is Mary Bobbin. Mary makes original crafty items such as ‘bridal bunting’ that you can hang at your reception or ceremony for an easy DIY decorative look. Styles available are changing all the time as Mary creates limited edition pieces with specially sourced fabrics. So keep checking back to her Facebook and Etsy store for the new pieces available (details on her website).

4. If you need hair and make-up then Brisbane based hair and make-up artist Debbie from Canary Hair and Beauty can help you with both! I worked with Debbie on one of my own bridal catalogue photoshoots and she understood what I wanted to achieve so clearly with little conversation and few inspiration pictures. It’s also quite rare to find someone who can do both hair and make up which is hugely convenient rather than having to hire two people for your wedding day! 5. Gorgeous bridal shoes by Arbie Goodfellow. Arbie has some gorgeous styles in her range including some that are more classical and less elaborate than these. But I just adore the over the top Marie Antoinette look about these shoes! She dyes the laces especially and all embellishments and beading are done by hand.

6. Last but not least… If you’re in the market for a wedding celebrant than you should check out Engage Celebrants. I met Sarah Cummings from Engage Celebrants at the One Fine Day wedding fair in Sydney where we were both exhibiting. Sarah is a really fun, young celebrant and you can see videos of her in action on the website.

So that’s my top 6! I hope you like them and maybe they have given you a taste of some of the exciting wedding vendors that are out there!

Good luck in your wedding planning, but most importantly have fun and take time out to enjoy the process!
