Katrina and Scott

I love a country wedding and Katrina and Scott’s beautiful day has all the romantic touches and sweet moments that tell their story so beautifully. Those backdrops? Pure magic!

Kicking off the feature, let’s get into their story.  “Scotty & Katrina met at St Albert’s College at the University of New England, where they both studied Agribusiness. They had been together for almost 6 years, when Scotty proposed at a gorgeous winery “Merilba” just outside Uralla. Scotty had purchased the most hideous ring he could find at Diva for the proposal. Scotty & Katrina then designed the engagement ring together with Danny at Danny Designer Jewellers in Tamworth.”

Gorgeous romantic images today from the lovely Firefly Images. Katrina and Scott also hired Tamworth Event Planners to help them with the day, Katrina remarking  “There is a reason why the ladies from Tamworth Wedding Planners are known as the “Wedding Angels” – they really are angels! Bec ensures that your wedding planning experience is an enjoyable one. She was more than willing to source whatever we wanted, that she didn’t have. Bec has an eye for detail and is a perfectionist – just what you want in your wedding planner.”

Harvest By Hayley styled the flowers. Katrina recalling, “A good friend of ours has recently started her own wedding flower business “Harvest by Hayley”. Hayley is a very creative girl and has an amazing style! White, pinks and greenery was the brief that I gave Hayley. She delivered above and beyond our expectations – she did an amazing job. My sister who recently got married had “flower envy”!!!

Katrina chose a gown from Louise Alvarez Couture, she remembers, “Louise & Erin at Louise Alvarez Couture in Roseville helped bring my dream dress to life. After a weekend of dress shopping with a girlfriend, I had some ideas of what I liked. My sister then organised an appointment for me at Louise Alvarez Couture and Erin brought all of my ideas together in the most gorgeous sketch. As soon I saw the sketch, I knew that I wanted Erin and Louise to make my wedding dress.

I highly recommend Louise Alvarez Couture to everybody, having your wedding dress made with them is an unbelievable experience.”

Hair and makeup was styled by Allure Hair Tamworth. Katrina recalling, “Getting married in our home town meant that I was able to use my own hairdresser and I was very pleased about this. Kylie and the team at Allure Hair, Tamworth are a very talented team of hairdressers and beauticians. It was so convenient being able to have our tans, nails, make up and hair done all at the same salon.”

The couple chose Tangaratta Vineyard outside of Tamworth for their wedding, remarking, “Our ceremony was held on the lawn over looking the vines at Tangaratta Vineyard. Our guests were then served drinks and canapes on the lawn before our reception in the function centre at Tangarratta Vineyard.”

For her walk down the aisle, the couple remember “Scotty’s cousin Richard played the bagpipes, it was a very special moment for us! Richard wore Katrina’s kilt from school (All Saints College, Bathurst). He also wore a kilt pin, that is a family heirloom. Both Scotty’s family the Campbell ‘s and Katrina’s family the Macdonald’s have Scottish heritage.”

Katrina remarks, “It was so amazing to have all of our family and friends with us to help celebrate our wedding – it was an absolutely perfect day!”

Of their photographer, Katrina says, “Kylie from Firefly Images recently photographed my sister’s wedding and so I already knew that Kylie would do an amazing job! She is very talented, down to earth and easy to work with. We didn’t want to spend a lot of time having our photos taken and Kylie ensured that they ran smoothly and didn’t take too long. We really appreciated that Kylie was with us right from the start of the day when we were getting ready, right through until the end of the evening.”

The couple chose to do minimal DIY for a stress free event. They did however do something special for their table names, Katrina explaining, “Both of our families have farming backgrounds, so we decided to use our family property names rather table numbers. It didn’t take us long to come with the 16 property names that each have their own special places within our families. On each table there was a framed story about that property. Our families loved reading about the other families’ properties.”

We had a table set up with our family’s wedding photo’s on display. Our guests admired the different fashions from different generations. Some of these photos were particularly special, as some family members are no longer with us.

I Make Jelly designed the stationery, Katrina noting, ” Josie from I Make Jelly is a very talented graphic designer- with her own unique flair! Josie made our life so much easier – she was incredibly helpful with all of our wedding stationery needs. We gave Josie a brief of what we liked and before we knew it she had emailed through a few different options for us to choose from. Josie looked after everything from the save the dates, to our table seating chart.”

“Katrina had a photo taken with her Grandma, Nan, Mum and sister hands- of their wedding and engagement rings. It is such a lovely photo to have.”

Of their first dance, Katrina recalls, “Our bridal waltz was to Keith Urban’s ‘Making Memories of Us’.  Luella Widt our music for the reception was so much fun! Nobody wanted the evening to end, because Luella was so much fun. Scotty & Katrina ended up on the guests’ shoulders dancing.”

Congratulations Katrina and Scott! Congratulations on your marriage! Thank you for sharing your day with us, and thank you also to Firefly Images. for sharing today’s images with us!
