Kate and Sam

Kate and Sam’s wedding is everything I love about St Kilda- it’s relaxed, but it’s chic and so very cool! It seems to me that their day was filled with fun from start to finish and plenty of laughter and that? That’s what a person needs on a cold winters day! (Plus I am secretly in love with Kate’s gorgeous hair)

Kate tells their story. “We met at a Melbourne bar through a mutual acquaintance. We were together from that night onwards. The very next day after we met we went for a drive to the country to have a bonfire with his sister and her husband and kids!”

Goldsmith & Co captured the vibrant and fun moments of the day!

Kate wore a gown by Kyha Simpson from One Day Bridal with Dolci Firme shoes and earrings by Samantha Wills. She recalls,Kyha was absolutely amazing!!!”  One Day Bridal also created a custom skirt for Kate’s bridesmaid.

Kate and Sam were married at St Kilda Botanical Gardens. Kate explains, “The Rose garden for the ceremony was a perfect setting. We had blankets, cushions and a bar set-up around the corner at the lake for drinks after the ceremony.”

“My twin brother walked me down the aisle to Etta James “At Last”. It was sung acoustic by Cam Tapp with his guitar.”

Kate describes the day as, “A beautiful, bright, happy day filled with love, laughter and all the people we adore in the world.”

Of their photographers, Kate says, “They were absolutely delightful. Very professional, lovely, unobtrusive who love to have a laugh too. Very respectful of our day too. The photos turned out beautifully and were super quick too!”

The Salford Lads Club hosted the reception, Kate recalling, “We chose The Salford Lads’ Club, in Port Melbourne. The Lads Club is a gorgeous cafe in industrial Port Melbourne. Huge windows, beautiful timber parquetry floors, mismatched old timber furniture, super high ceilings AND a huge oak tree with a tyre swing out the front. We decorated with heaps of candles, fresh flowers, fairy-lights, bunting etc. The food was Latin American themed and the chefs did a fabulous job. Delicious!”

For their first dance, Kate remembers “It was very informal, but it was to my favourite song ‘Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes’ – Paul Simon.”

Congratulations on your marriage Kate and Sam! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you Goldsmith & Co for sharing today’s images!
