YAY I love Winter and I love that we just had a massively cold weekend that was perfect of boots and knitted scarves and delicious warmth! Did you have a lovely weekend?

Before we kick off a week of wedding goodness, let’s take a moment to thank and shine our little light bright on the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. We start with Photography, then there’s Venues (private island anyone?) Entertainment, Cinematography, Cakes & Wedding Planners. So whether your wedding is no fuss, or has all the trimmings we have passionate vendors who love what they do ready to help you with your plans!

I’m always a fan of a good wedding film- it might be said a good wedding film is my happy place. I love the reactions, the looks, the smiles, the speeches and I completely lose myself in them. So for me, a wedding film is a must have. Not just for you, but for the generations to come!

So I’m thrilled to show off Day Twelve Pictures, a Melbourne based cinematography duo who are completely passionate about filming weddings (plus they’re married so the love is there!). They pride themselves on high quality films which reflect the couples personalities plus? They hand colour grade each film and make sure it’s, well, picture perfect!

We asked Janice and Mark from Day Twelve Pictures five questions in five minutes –

What’s your favourite after five drink?

Mark and I don’t really drink alcohol that often. We have the occasional beers and cocktails but what we loooove drinking are fruit smoothies… yum!

Favourite weekend getaway?

Home. We are often out and about so home is really a good place to unwind for us.

Favourite restaurant?

Mark loves Rockpool at Crown whilst I love Samanee, a Thai restaurant in Moonee Ponds.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Bacon, eggs and hash browns – our once a week guilty pleasure .

Your favourite wedding story?

Ours! Mark had a very funny experience the night before our wedding. He was locked outside their house and no one can hear him knocking on their gate. He decided to sleep inside his car and opened the window to let some air in… soon enough it started raining so he closes the window but it was too hot inside the car. He had to decide if he wanted to stay cool but get wet from the rain or if he wanted to stay dry but fry inside the car. Someone finally saw him at 5am on our wedding day and let him into the house. Although he didn’t get to sleep that night, I’ve never seen him so happy and excited. If you know him, you’ll understand that he is a very shy and quiet guy but on our wedding day, he couldn’t stop smiling and telling everyone about his strange night and how he felt like he had a good night’s sleep knowing that he was marrying me that day.
