handmade wedding jewels

I love pieces that have something special to them when it comes to a wedding, so handmade jewellery, the pieces our gorgeous vendor of the week Jess of Theori Jewellery really are just the ticket. Using huge, gorgeous gemstones, gemstone nuggets and pearls and reclaiming most of her metals, Jess creates beautiful pieces that not only suit brides to be, but make beautiful wedding party gifts, or just treats for your every day.

Jess takes custom orders for your own look or for group bridal party orders and makes each piece of out her Western Australian studio.

We asked Jess from Theori Jewellery five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?

I love anything with a mix of citrus and rosemary (Tuscan Lemon Drop are awesome!) and am also fond of a glass of wine or two!

Your favourite weekend getaway?

If you ever get the chance to visit Esperance along the Western Australian south coast – do it. Absolutely gorgeous beaches and chilled out small town vibe! My ideal weekend getaway would be ‘going back to nature’ – a chilled break somewhere in the forest or at the beach surrounded the sounds of nature.

Favourite restaurant?

I have been to a couple of great restaurants over the years, and am finding it hard to pin one down! In Perth, Opus resturant was really lovely, both in service and food. When visiting the USA, we were blown away by the service and quality of food, with Aureole and 5 Napkin Burger in NYC standouts (watch out for the cocktails at 5 Napkin Burger – very strong!!). In my current hometown of Kalgoorlie, Paddy’s Pub serves a mean chicken parmi & their steak sandwiches are awesome!

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

I love breakfast – best meal of the day!! I normally make my own breakfast on Sundays, but occasionally I go out. Normally it will be homemade wholemeal fruit pancakes or eggs with lashings of hollandaise. I also make a mean vegie patty to go with my eggs. Breakfast is normally accompanied by a pot of loose leaf tea – Rubra punjabi chai is my current favourite!

Your favourite wedding story?

Most of the wedding stories that I know all have an element of calamity to them! One bride booked her wedding in Broome, WA in the middle of the dry season to take advantage of this wonderful location, however, their wedding day was the wettest day in recorded history! They moved the ceremony indoors and got to have some great photo opportunities in the rain. Goes to show that even the rain can’t ruin a wedding (planning is key!!).
