Jasmine and Scott

I couldn’t help to shed a tear at the intensity of emotion captured by Tomar Photography surrounding Jasmine and Scott’s rustic country wedding day. From the heartfelt letters the couple exchanged with their innermost thoughts, the surprise gift Jasmine gave to Scott and Jasmine’s beaming smile which never once left her face. That there, is what I adore about weddings.

“We actually grew up about 400m away from one another but it wasn’t until we both started playing soccer for a club in the next suburb that we met through mutual friends. After a couple of years of friendship and some over enthusiastic friends, friendship turned into more.”

Jasmine says, “There was a number of very dear family members that have passed and were not there to share in our wedding, so we knew the day was going to be very emotional.”

Photographer Marc shares the story behind these images with us. “Scott’s father had passed away a number of years ago and Scott had his old watch, but it had a cracked screen and wouldn’t keep the time. Jasmine decided to steal the watch from him and secretly had it repaired and restored. On the morning of their wedding Scott’s brother presented him with a letter for him, and finally his restored father’s watch. It is one of the most heart warming and emotional things I have ever witnessed let alone had the opportunity to photograph. ”

Jasmine chose a strapless gown and accessories from Brides By Francesca with Mimco shoes. Her bridesmaids wore navy gowns from Wayne by Wayne Cooper

Oh Fleur styled the bouquets and floral arrangements for the day.

Jasmine and Scott were married at Belgenny Farm, Jasmine remarking, “We held the ceremony and the reception all at Belgenny Farm. The day was absolutely perfect 26 degrees, and we could not have asked for anything better.”

“We had the ceremony out on the lawn with the vineyard as the back drop.”

The couple chose a navy blue kombi from All Wedding Cars as their wedding day transport, Jasmine recalling “One of my favourite moments of the day would have to of been in the Kombi van heading out to the farm with my beautiful bridesmaids, and my dad, singing ‘going to the chapel’, and all of us with our dresses hiked up because it was so hot and the Kombi had no air conditioning!”

“That moment when you see each other for the first time, I think that moment is burnt into my memory for life!”

For the processional, Jasmine remembers, “One of our beautiful friends wrote and played a song called “So Long” which we walked down the aisle to.”

Of their photographer, Jasmine says, “We used Tomar Photography. These guys were fantastic to deal with and so enthusiastic and excited to be apart of our day. It made it so much easier to relax and enjoy the day. It was all really natural and unforced and the photos completely summarise how happy we both were on the day!”

While the couple had photographs taken, guests enjoyed games and drinks. Jasmine explaining, “We had games set up for the guests, chess, bocce, hopscotch, while we went and had our pictures taken all over the property. The grounds were so amazing, so many different settings and textures to have the photos taken.”

Jasmine remembers, “The reception was held in the large grannery on the farm, which we filled with fresh flowers. The food and the staff at the farm were unbelievable! We really were blessed and looked after for our big day!”

The decor was pulled together by the couple themselves, Jasmine telling, “We did a large majority of of the decorations ourselves. From the invitations, to favours, photobooth, all the table decorations. We also put together a table of pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days so that even though some of our grandparents were not there physically, they were there in spirit.”

Of their first dance, Jasmine remembers “Our first dance was to Frank Sinatra’s song “All the Way”. It was such an amazing moment just the two of us being able to take in all the emotion and happiness of the day.”

Congratulations on your marriage Jasmine and Scott! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to  Tomar Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us.
