1. Colour – Whilst I am partial to a classic ‘White’ wedding, I get mighty excited when a Bride says she wants to inject colour into her wedding day. I know it can go all kinds of wrong (like when the main colour is Hot Pink, gah!) but, when done well, it’s so very pretty. This is probably my favourite bouquet that I have done. Isn’t she lovely?! 2. A Beverage Bar – Your guests will love you! Especially if you are having an outdoor, Summer wedding. It doesn’t have to be alcoholic, just a nice fruit punch or homemade lemonade does the job! They not only look gorgeous but they are great for filling time in between ceremony and reception, particularly if you want your guests to enjoy the ceremony location. This is our Rustic Beverage Bar that is available for hire. Image by Special Event Planners

3. Candle light – With so many lighting options available, my all time fave is ‘Candle Light’. Doesn’t it just set a wonderful ambience?! I have never styled a wedding without the inclusion of candles. I get a little upset (well, like not openly but on the inside) when venues say ‘no open flames’. Although, with those fabulous real wax battery operated pillars, not all is lost. It is also a cost effective way to style your wedding. Flowers can be pricey, so if you choose minimal blooms and opt for loads of candles, you are still going to create a beautiful, rustic setting but the cost will be lower. Start collecting jars and vases to pop them in, Ladies 🙂 Image by Trent Daft

4. Breathtaking Ceremony Locations – Often we get lost in the reception and the party, and forget just how special and important a Ceremony is. My absolute fave ceremony location is at the fabulous Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. Their outdoor cathedral is insanely beautiful.  So beautiful that it needs not one bit of styling. What beats natural beauty?! Image by Trent Daft

5. Live Entertainment – I know it isn’t always budget friendly, however, it sets such a wonderful scene/mood. Walking into a reception space with a live band playing really gets your guests excited for the night ahead. Or, if you don’t want to extend the budget that far, even an acoustic soloist or String Quartet at your ceremony. Or, if you want something different, try a Mariachi Band like one of my South Coast Brides did – it was amazing! There are so many wonderful musicians that specialise in Weddings. My advice would be to seek referrals from friends and family and to make sure they are willing to learn songs that aren’t in their repertoire. Image by Nora Devai

Ms Gingham says: A Mariachi band! Now that’s definitely going to be a point of difference… in a fantastic way!!
