single-stem-corsage

This single stem corsage is a modern take on the old fashioned elasticised posy and is perfect for flower girls and bridesmaids alike.

It looks stunning with a large simple flower like a peony, rose or gardenia and of course you can choose the ribbon to suit your theme.

What you need:

– 2 lengths of florist wire. You can get this at craft supply stores.

– florist tape.

– strong scissors or wire cutters.

– thick ribbon.

– a single large flower of your choice, and greenery if you would like.

Bend one piece of wire in half, creating two loops at the top and two lengths at the bottom. Trim the lengths to about 6cm long. Wrap the wire lengths tightly in florist tape.

Thread the ribbon through the wire loops. This will be the corsage holder.

Bend the remaining wire in half and thread through the flower base so that it lines each side of the stem. Add any greenery and use the wire to secure it to the stem. Trim the stem and wires to about 6cm long.

Tape the wire and stem together with florist tape.

Place the prepared flower on top of the corsage holder, lining up the lengths of wrapped wire and wrapped stem, and tape together with more florist tape.

Tie the ribbon onto the wrist.
