Anna & Tim
Anna and Tim restored their sweet country homestead so they could marry there. Months of hard work restoring the home to its former glory, pruning and preparing the gardens with their family and friends led to their dream wedding venue becoming reality. The result? A beautiful paper flower filled country wedding celebration all captured by Photography With Cassie,
Anna tells of how they met. “We met through Tim’s sister Melanie, at her birthday party. I was smitten almost instantly, but it was another six months before we began dating. Our wedding date was the sixth anniversary of our first date, and Melanie was my Maid of Honour.”
Anna remembers, “Francesca Grey in Latrobe did all the girls’ hair, and did a great job. Lorin Kamphuis did our make up, and is an amazing artist. We had a really lovely, relaxed morning at Francesca’s salon being pampered by these two women, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.”
The wedding was held at the couple’s country home, Anna remarking, “We had been property hunting for a while and after our engagement we purchased a beautiful 1920’s homestead on 18 acres. We knew when we bought it that it was our dream wedding site, but we weren’t sure if it was going to be possible because the house was filthy and the gardens were a jungle. Thankfully we have wonderful family and friends who all worked hard to help make our ‘at home wedding’ happen.”
Anna walked down the aisle to a duet by Megan Washington and Kate Miller-Heidke cover ‘Let it be Me.’
“We exchanged vows in front of our paddock gate, with guests on one side and our goats on the other, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
“Our dairy goat stud is a huge and important part of our lives. The goats are our babies and we really wanted to include them in our wedding and especially our photos. It was a little drizzly at the beginning of our wedding and I was worried that they’d be hiding in the shed (they hate the rain) but there was no way they were going to miss out on all the excitement. Cassie did a great job capturing their individual personalities.”
Paper flowers were a big highlight of the day, handmade by the bride who tells, “I love crafting and making and handmade as much as possible. The invitations, flowers, decorations, my shoes, and table centrepieces (were all handmade).”
Guests enjoyed an afternoon tea reception, Anna remarking, “The reception was a high tea held in a marquee in the paddock beside the house. The food was cooked by family and friends, including many prize-winning recipes from members of the local agricultural show society.”
Guests took home bars of goat milk soap by Margaret Lomman as wedding favors.
