In February, Mr Polka and I spent a week hopping around Malaysia and had the most incredible time. From the hustle and bustle of the city to the forests and mountain tops right down to the islands and coastline.

With Kuala Lumpur being a mere eight-hour flight from Australia, it’s easy to use the city as a jump off point if you’re getting married in Asia, or even as a stop over on your way to your destination wedding in Europe. So I put together The Groom’s Guide to Kuala Lumpur over on Expedia.

Get A Haircut From Worldclass Barbers Truefitt & Hill

truefitt and hill

Truefitt & Hill have been around since 1803, so they know their stuff! In Kuala Lumpur the grooming parlour is located in The Majestic Hotel’s Smoke House – a chic little corner of the hotel’s outer buildings.

Not only does the parlour itself include a tailor and a shoe shine service, but right next door is a poker room and a private theatrette which screens black and white movies all day. Upstairs is The Smoke House bar- which serves up old classic  cocktails and Malaysian inspired drinks with jazz tunes and bartenders in bow-ties (you can even hire out a private room and have a chef create a custom menu- how’s that for a pre wedding celebration?).
