Clyde Park Winery newlyweds

Brea & Jay

There is nothing like an elegant winery wedding to get the wedding inspiration and warm fuzzies moving on a Wednesday, and Brea and Jay’s wedding is so packed with amazing views, smile inducing moments and gorgeous details that you’ll want to grab a cup of tea and settle in! The couple chose Michael Renga to capture their wedding photographs!

Brea tells the story of how they came to be.  “Our first kiss was at a bar after a big day at the races. We parted ways without exchange of numbers or details and had no contact. Almost 3 months later we once again randomly ‘met’ on a night out in Lorne. A place where we had both spent many summers with friends at the beach side town. We did not recognize each other or remember our past meeting three months earlier. It was our good friends who were with us on both occasions who put the pieces together and filled us in on how fate had brought us together a second time and from that day we have been inseparable.”

The bride made her own hair piece for the day, explaining, “I had in mind exactly what I wanted to wear in my hair but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I bought a cream headband from Lovisa and I took the hair piece off the headband and added a clip to the back. I then added pearls to the design to tie in with my jewellery.”

The bride chose a lace wedding dress by  Maggie Sottero from Raffaele Ciuca. She tells, “It was a dreamy lace and tulle slim line gown with V-neckline and cap-sleeves features a separate light gold slip gown of Vogue Satin to be worn below. The alluring open back is finished with a covered button. I chose this dress because I felt really comfortable in it. I could easily move and I thought it really suited the winery atmosphere in which I was getting married. This was my dream dress. I was so happy when I tried it on and it suited my figure.” Her bridesmaids wore pale pink dresses from Nicolangela.

Marie McKee Marriage Celebrant

Marie McKee officiated the ceremony, Brea explaining, “Our ceremony was very casual and a real celebration of our relationship with our closest family and friends. We had both our mothers sign our wedding certificate. This was something that was very special to us so they could be part of our day. We had a reading called ‘The One’.

When the one whose hand you’re holding

Is the one who holds your heart

When the one whose eyes you gaze into gives your hopes and dreams their start,

When the one you think of first and last is the one who holds you tight,

and the things you plan together make the whole world seem just right,

when the one whom you believe in puts their faith and trust in you,

You’ve found the one and only love You’ll share your whole life through.”

Of their photographer, Brea remarks, “Michael had a huge vision of the perfect shots. He worked quickly and diligently to ensure we got the best photos in the perfect light. Michael has a keen eye for the perfect backdrop and angle, and it was completely worth trekking hills and tackling prickles to get so many fantastic photos. We received our photos so soon after the wedding and the day was just captured perfectly, enjoying happy memories and capturing the raw emotion of our special day.”

“After canapes and drinks on the terrace, the reception was then held inside the shed with wine barrels lining the entire walls. There were festoon lights hung from the ceiling and outside as well. The guests sat at large tables of 30 for their seated main meal. We had a dessert bar later that night where guests could help themselves to as many delicious treats as they wanted.”

“We really wanted to set the feel of our reception from the beginning of the night. We wanted all of our guests to feel relaxed and ready to celebrate with us. Our MC welcomed the bridal party with a humorous introduction tailored to each couple as they danced their way into reception to a range of upbeat songs.”
