Stunning Centennial Parklands Wedding055

Emma & Enzo

There is plenty to love about today’s stunning Centennial Parklands wedding. From the beautiful forest backdrop for the ceremony, to the greenery that was carried through to the reception. The bride’s amazing wedding gown, the groom’s dapper suit and the stories- the wine ceremony that paid homage to the couple’s love of wine, the first dance, the amazing band. Each and every moment captured by I Love Wednesdays.

Emma tells the story of how they came to be. “We met years ago through our friends. We occasionally saw each other at social events, but never really got to know each other until we were introduced. by a friend. We’ve spent every single day together since.”

Emma chose a gown by George Wu, she tells, “I fell in love with the designs of George Wu. I loved his dreamy, romantic, feminine gowns. George was amazing to work with – he was so open to ideas, totally understood what I was going for, and asked for my opinion on every little detail. I really felt it was collaborative experience. The dress turned out exactly like the initial sketch!”

Love 2 Love – Wedding & Event Planner planned the wedding, the bride remarking “Special mention has to go to our wedding planner, Jase from Love2Love. That man is a genius! He read who we were as a couple after one coffee – he knew what would suit us, what we would/wouldn’t like, always recommended the right people for the job, and no idea or request was impossible.”

The couple chose Centennial Parklands for their wedding, noting “Centennial Parklands was chosen as it was close to where we grew up and we loved the idea of having our ceremony and reception in one location. The parklands were a perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. The ceremony was nestled in a pine grove where guests were surrounded by trees and serenaded by acoustic guitar.” Clara’s Flower Studio  created the floral arrangements for the day while Libby Young created the stationery and signage.

The bride was hidden by a set of wooden doors, choosing John Legend’s “All Of Me” for her walk down the aisle. “We used special doors and parasols at the outdoor ceremony to hide the bride’s dress. It’s really hard to keep a dress a secret when you can’t hide anywhere! The parasols looked gorgeous and gave me great coverage, and the doors still meant I could make my grand entrance! Enzo, who promised he wouldn’t shed a tear, did. The doors added so much suspense and when I walked through them you could hear everyone gasp.”

“We wrote our own vows for our special day. There were two readings; – Friendship by Judy Bielicki – Extract from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.”

Jessica Murdoch officiated the ceremony, which included a wine ceremony, the bride explains. “We had a special part of the ceremony called a Wine Ceremony. Our first holiday together was a road trip around the South Island of New Zealand, and after visiting the Cloudy Bay vineyard we became obsessed with the Pinot Noir.

During the wine ceremony a wine box was presented with that particular Pinot Noir, along with love letters we had written to each other the night before. The idea is to open the bottle and letters on our 10 year anniversary, but if we should come upon hard times before then, we should open the bottle, read the letters, and remind each other why we got married in the first place.”

Emma remembers, “The stand out was our freakin’ amazing band, Rhythm Republic, who did a beautiful acoustic set at the ceremony and brought the house down at the reception! The one thing everyone keeps talking about is the band. The day just wouldn’t have been the same without them!”

Emma and Enzo chose La Lune Cinema to capture a film of their day. I love how beautifully captured their film is.
