The Modern Celebrants are a collaboration of five fun loving, young and caring celebrants. Based in Melbourne, Erin, Danielle, Julie, Bianca and Tracey form a professional supportive network for each other, having performed over 800 ceremonies between them. With a professional approach, they aim to create a ceremony that is as individual as you are, and the added bonus is that there is always a back up celebrant available to perform your wedding ceremony. Meet The Modern Celebrants….

We asked Erin, Danielle, Julie, Bianca and Tracey of The Modern Celebrants five questions in five minutes:

What is your favourite after five drink?

Julie: When driving back from a wedding on a Friday or Saturday in the summer months, I dream of a crisp cold Pinot Grigio!

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Danielle: One of my favourite weekend getaway locations is Sorrento! There are so many things to love about this place – you can enjoy lazing on the beach and having a swim during Summer, or rugging up and getting some fresh air as you stroll along the sand in the cooler months, all the while enjoying the amazing views, so don’t forget to take your camera! There are lots of great shops for some retail therapy, plenty of fabulous eateries (keep a lookout for the best vanilla slices in Australia) and don’t forget to treat yourself to a pamper session at one of the wonderful Day Spas! The most important thing though, is that you get to share your weekend away with those you love!

Favourite restaurant?

Erin: We are spoilt for choice in fabulous restaurants in Melbourne as it is so multicultural! One of my favourite restaurants to dine in would be Red Spice Road in the McKillop Street CDB. The delicious gourmet, modern Asian inspired food is divine with lots of variety from succulent meats, seafood, desserts to vegetarian and gluten free options. The massive David Bromley paintings that are displayed on the back walls and the shared bench seats create a trendy and chic vibe. The Premier banquet menu is a MUST! I’m salivating just thinking about it.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Bianca: Breakfast of a Sunday morning at our house is always pancakes with honey, lemon, sugar and syrup (but not all together!). We usually walk off the pancakes after breakfast before I start preparing for an afternoon ceremony.

Your favourite wedding story?

Tracey: My favourite wedding story would have to when a bride and groom met at the end of the aisle and turned to face each other, they both broke down in tears – such a beautiful and sincere moment. I felt that I was there not only for their emotional state as well as being there to guide them through their ceremony. Everyone could just see the genuine and warmth of emotion and I understood that they were so perfectly right for each other.
