Happy Monday Dotties ! I do hope the Winter blues aren’t getting you down and that you are taking some moments at this slower time of year to snuggle inside, pop the kettle on and get some serious planning done!

What is there to love about a winter wedding? The men not perspiring in their suits, hot chocolate and doughnuts to serve as a midnight snack, a chance to add your own unique winter touches to your wedding party outfits – what’s not to love?  Booking your vendors for the cooler months also gives you a higher chance of having your favourite supplier available on your chosen date and Ms Polka Dot’s Directory is the place to go to choose your wedding vendors for your wedding day.  We have Cakes, we have Menswear, we have Photography and Jewellery – we even have Photobooth Hire and Hair & Beauty! Our Directory is full of lovely vendors who are committed to helping you make your day beautiful.

Folded wedding invitation

A tactile perception

Origami wedding invitation

Natalie of A Tactile Perception offers a different angle on a wedding invitation. Inspired by Japanese origami, each invitation is hand folded and the surprise of the invitation itself is revealed as the paper is unfolded. From her signature Tezukuri range come delicate designs all enclosed in intricate folds. Her designs are also offered invitation suites including menus, order of service and seating lists. Be enchanted at the possibilities of an origami-inspired invitation.

We asked Natalie of A Tactile Perception five questions in five minutes:

What is your favourite after five drink?

Baileys on the rocks.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

A cosy bed and breakfast in the Dandenong Ranges or Yarra Valley with an open fire in the winter. Thankfully hubby and I have been on a few of these, although they were certainly more frequent before the kiddies came along!

Favourite restaurant?

I like to think that chocolate is a food group – I love visiting the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, it’s a beautiful spot to visit with my little family and indulge in delicious treats!

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Hubby likes to cook pancakes, and I have mine with good old lemon and sugar. That, or bacon and avocado on toast.

Your favourite wedding story?

As the ceremony was coming to a close at my gorgeous girlfriend’s wedding, some women came out of the crowd to come together to sing a beautiful song to her and her new husband – it was a surprise to them and the guests, it was lovely and very moving.
