Cherlyn & Seng Wai

Sometimes, one needs just a beautiful set of photos and an incredible love story to get back to the very core of what a wedding is all about. These beautiful great Ocean Road honeymoon photos, captured by Caroline Sada captured newlyweds Cherlyn and Seng Wai in their beautiful post-wedded bliss state.

The happy couple met in college, but their love story started out with the most wonderful of friendships. Seng Wai remarking “We were classmates during the first three months in Junior College and used to hang out with a common group of friends before I left for another school. Despite this, we kept in constant contact throughout our schooling life and became good friends. We were each other’s childhood sweethearts.”

On what he loves about his wife, Seng Wai remarks “Her strong, determined character and her willingness to be with me wherever I go. The way her hands fit into mine feels like we were made to be together.”

On what she adores about her husband, Cherlyn tells “His patience and understanding nature, accepting me for my flaws. His humour and ability to sustain long engaging conversations during our many road trips together whereby I rarely need to turn the radio on.”

Seng Wai proposed to Cherlyn with the most wonderful of surprises, he recounts the story. “After 9 years of dating (including 4 years of long distance relationship), I decided that an overseas proposal would be the way to go. Hence I travelled to Ireland on the pretext of attending Cherlyn’s graduation ceremony and popped the question to her on the balcony of a restaurant overlooking the sea. Needless to day, Cherlyn was utterly surprised by my move. She was so stunned that it seemed like it took an eternity for her to say yes.”

Seng Wai notes “We really liked the way Caroline Sada, our photographer, captured the emotion in her close up shots as well as her focus on other areas and not just the faces. She has a unique eye for capturing the moment. Also, the desaturated colours of the photos caught our attention as it was pretty different from the usual photos of other photographers. We heard Great Ocean Road was a romantic and beautiful place. Consequently, we wanted to have our pictures taken in the setting of this natural landscape.”
