Kate & Brad

Kate and Brad knew they wanted their romantic Balgownie Estate Vineyard wedding to be filled with love, and the evidence is clear! Set amongst the vineyards of the Yarra Valley they wed in style, surrounded by dear friends and family who had flown in from England. We love every detail of this gorgeous wedding day, with Cassie from Blossom Daisy Creative on hand to capture every moment.

The bride and groom met on a night out in Chapel Street, with Kate sharing, ”Brad offered to drive my friend and I home which was thoughtful, however it didn’t go to plan and the car broke down, leaving us to get a taxi home.” Proof that true love can be found even when things go a little differently than expected!

The bride had been searching for quite some time before finding her dream gown, remembering, ”I had began feeling it was a chore to spend Saturdays going to bridal appointments. When I found my dress and decided it was the one I was told the dress was called ‘Frankie’, which is my cats name – it was meant to be!” Kate skyped with her Mother in England while at the appointment with Made With Love Bridal from Bluebell Bridal, and says they were both thrilled with her choice.

Wanting a simple and short ceremony, the bride and groom added personal touches to their vows, with Kate sharing, ”We wanted the ceremony to be filled with love! Brad’s vows were not traditional at all and made everyone laugh. He included nicknames for me like ‘possum’ and ‘banana’, mine were more old fashioned. It was nice to keep them secret and hear them on the day.” The bride walked down the aisle to Higher Love by James Vincent McMorrow.

With Brad often wearing suits to work, it was simple to choose a well cut outfit, with Kate telling, ”The process was fairly easy for Brad! He went for an MJ Bale dark charcoal suit that was perfect with the navy Shona Joy bridesmaid dresses. The groomsmen had plain navy ties and Brad had a navy tie with white polka dots.”

The newly married couple were thrilled with Cassie from Blossom Daisy Creative, with Kate telling, ”She is amazing! I could not recommend her enough. She made me feel so comfortable and didn’t ask us to do any weird awkward poses, that’s not her style. It was completely relaxed and she captured the love so well without forcing anything. The photos speak for themselves!”

Gorgeous flowers from Ruby Soho Flowers impressed even the groom, with Kate sharing, ”My florist was amazing! The DJ and saxophonist were awesome as well! I think it’s so important to use local vendors that you know through friends.” The delicious cake was handmade by Cherry Tree Bakehouse.

The venue provided a gorgeous backdrop for the newlywed bride and groom, and Kate shares, ”We chose Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa as we loved the idea of having the day and evening spent at one location. We also needed lots of accommodation as I had family members coming from England, with many staying the night.”

Kate and Brad decided to get some help to ensure their first dance was memorable, with the bride remembering, ”We had been going to dance lessons at The Secret Garden of Dance in Camberwell and our teacher was great. We’re both not very good dancers (although we always have a boogy), so we thought we better get some help. It was a full routine to Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur and everyone loved it!”

A huge congratulations to our stunning bride and groom on their wedding, and thank you for sharing your beautiful celebration with us! Thank you also to Blossom Daisy Creative for allowing us to be a part of Kate and Brad’s wedding day!
