With a background in documentary photography, the friendly guys from Native Weddings put together movies of your wedding day. With different ways of looking at your day, the film of your day is put together combining both their talents for editing, working together to create the perfect product. Each film leaves their studio with agreement between the two, that the film they are delivering to you, represents your day perfectly and is as unique as you are.

We asked Mike and Tye of Native Weddings  five questions in five minutes:

What is your favourite after five drink?

A cold beer, they take most of the space in our office fridge. As soon as it hits 5 on a Friday it’s beer and Mario cart time.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Wye River! My wife and I go there all the time – stunning views and no phone reception.

Favourite restaurant?

Naked for Satan. It’s right next to our office and great for a boozy lunch.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Me, Tye and a group of our friends have a Sunday morning tradition. Every Sunday that we are not filming we go to a tiny little French cafe/bar call La Niech on Smith Street Collingwood, and the standard is a Bloody Mary and a Croque Madame.

My favourite wedding story? (from Tye)

This would have to be my own!

It’s a story I have told a hundred times that never ceases to surprise people (To be honest I think Tye is a bit sick of the story though!)

I was fortunate enough to be married in a tiny town in the wine region north of Rome as my wife and I were living in Rome at the time. Our Wedding was extremely relaxed with lots of wine flowing, the only detail I was insistent upon was that we had to arrive in stunning cars.

I chose a classic British Morgan and Hannah gave it the Italian twist in a vintage Fiat 500, Unfortunately the driver of my wife’s car became extremely lost while navigating the tiny village streets and after being half an hour late the tiny little car gave up under the strain of climbing all the hills leaving her stranded on the side of the the road in full wedding dress.

With no other options left the mother of the bride stuck out her thumb and of course the first car stopped, The hip, young, cigarette smoking Italian driver eventually delivered my wife to our ceremony venue and we were married an hour later than planned (Apparently suggesting on the journey that Hannah should change her mind anyway as she was too young to get married).

I’ve told this story to so many brides as the perfect example of how sometimes things can happen on your wedding day that might seem bad at the time but they mean that you always have a story to tell.
