Hannah & Richard

Today we are celebrating love. Not because of a diamond ring, or a walk down the aisle- but love in it’s essence, particularly the love story of Hannah & Matthew. The pair worked with photographer Gavin James to capture memories of their love story by the sea.

The couple chose a stormy, moody day at the beautiful Noosa National Park as the backdrop for the stunning photographs. Hannah noting “This shoot was a collaboration between some amazingly creative and talented people; it was a great experience and insight into seeing the passion put into a photo session. We will cherish these photos as a celebration of our love and treasure them highly.” Floral designer Naturelle Floral Design and hair and makeup artist Amelia Livingstone also along for the ride.

Romantically, Hannah tells “I truly believe, I have found the man I will grow old with and I know in my heart that I could and will love him until my dying days. I admire his loyalty, appreciate how deeply he cares for me and adore the feeling I get every second that I get to spend next to him. He is my safe haven, happy place and home.”

On how the couple met, Hannah remembers “Richard and I met four years ago when I first set foot in Australia. I was coming out from Sweden for some well needed me-time and only ever planned to stay for a five week holiday. Richard was working at the restaurant that soon became my absolute local. I remember him asking me out early on when we first met but I was reluctant and it actually took a year of him asking me out before we went on to ‘hanging out as friends’ and a couple of months later (finally for him, I guess) becoming a couple. (…my five week holiday obviously changed into something much more permanent as I fell in love first with the sunshine, culture and beaches – and later also with Richard).”

“There is plenty of stories to tell about our relationship, however what people often find the most funny is the fact that I made him ask me out for a good year before finally agreeing to seeing him (and to start with that was only as a friend).”

On Gavin, Hannah remarks “We immediately fell in love with his style – the authenticity, the rawness and emotions he manages to capture. I knew straight away he should capture Richard and I – we just love the documentary style photos he creates.”
