Laura & Jarrod

From lush hanging floral chandeliers, gorgeous stationery and a white colour palette the modern all white winery wedding of Laura & Jarrod made the most of the beautiful setting, which despite the rain turned out to be rather magical. The bride, splendid in her couture laser cut lace gown, wanted an abundance of flowers to fill the day, and the gorgeous masses of foliage with white blooms added the most beautiful softness to this chic day captured beautifully by Lost in Love Photography.

It was at the races where the newlyweds first laid eyes on each other. Laura recounting “Jarrod and I met at the Caulfield races! It was at the Caulfield Cup many years ago that we met. Laura had worn rather high heels and after a long day complained that her feet were sore, so Jarrod, ever the gentleman, offered his knee for her to sit on. From that moment a first date transpired and Jarrod offered to pick Laura up from her home.”

The groom dressed in a classic black tux from MJ Bale.

Laura chose Suzanne Harward to create her gown, recounting “I loved the lace of this dress. I tried on many dresses but as soon as I put the dress on I knew it was the one! It was such a relaxed and comfortable fit I enjoyed every minute wearing it!”

Laura and Jarrod chose the beautiful Zonzo Estate for their big day. Telling “We had always loved Zonzo. We had seen photos of the amazing views and Barn at Zonzo and as soon as we saw it we felt it just suited us. We loved the relaxed and low key feel of getting married in the Barn. It was important to us to have both the ceremony and reception on the same site. We just wanted a very relaxed and enjoyable wedding day, as stress-free as possible.”

Being an only child, Laura wanted to share the walk down the aisle with both of her parents, choosing the tune of “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles.

Jo Betz officiated the ceremony, Laura explaining “We wanted our ceremony to be enjoyable and relaxed. We wanted our guests to feel as though they followed the journey of our relationship with us. It was beautiful! My bridesmaid Kate and her sister who are lifelong friends of mine sang for us and our guests as we signed our wedding papers. This was a really special touch and something both Jarrod and I found very special.”

Laura notes “My favourite photo is of Jarrod and I laughing at one another right after the ceremony. It all happened so quick, it’s so great to look back on the photos and to see how happy we both really were all day!”

“Our bridal party was complete with lifelong, primary and high school friends. I had my high school best friend Tate as my maid of honour and lifelong friends from Calisthenics and playgroup Kate and Alex. It was a special experience to share it with them. The groom had his four best friends from school by his side Brad, Phil, Ricky and Craig.”

“Lost in Love Photography are fantastic to work with.” The newlyweds tell of their photography team “We loved them! They were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable. Given it was raining on our wedding day they weren’t afraid to encourage us to get out amongst the vines and embrace it. It was so worth it, the photos are incredible. We spent the day laughing and loving it!”

The reception was styled by Storytime Weddings with florals by Sugar Bee Flowers. Laura telling  “All I wanted was an abundance of floral to fill our day and with the help of Storytime Weddings and Sugar Bee flowers they nailed it. I had a vision of Zonzo being filled with hanging greenery and beautiful white flowers and that’s exactly what we got! I was blown away with how beautiful the flowers were from the arch at our ceremony to our bouquets. I loved the fresh and natural look of green foliage and white flowers. I’ve still kept some of the flowers from my bouquet – my dad has pressed them for me!”

“I tried to carry the theme from my invitations throughout the wedding. I loved the idea of the room being filled with green foliage and this stemmed from the beautiful Japanese paper I chose to have on the back of my wedding invitations. My wedding planners did an amazing job of ensuring this pattern was printed onto the back of my welcome signs and seating charts. I also incorporated it onto my menus.”

The newlyweds chose “Like You Want To” by Kita Alexander to begin the evening of dance, remembering “It’s a bit of a nothing song to others, but to us, it meant a lot.”

Congratulations on your marriage Laura and Jarrod! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you also to Lost in Love Photography and  Zonzo Estate for sharing today’s stunning celebration.
