The gorgeous Clare Press has released her 2012 bridesmaids collection and in usual Mrs Press style it’s a bohemian mix of vintage and quirkiness.  Mrs Press‘s Summer 2012 collection “Light Hearts” is made  bespoke in the Mrs Press Paddington studio. Each gown, made to order, means you can work with Mrs Press to mix and match her selected fabrics and patterns to customise the gowns for your own maids.

‘Light Hearts” is a  little more playful that Clare’s older collections, but the summery sorbet colours and classic fifties shapes are such a nice alternatives for your bridesmaids or even for your own wedding gown.

Imagine these for a garden wedding, the soft feminine styles a perfect counter-point to your long softly flowing wedding dress. And best of all, they are so cute, your maids can wear them after the wedding.

I’ve been digging through my half written posts and found this one I’d started two years ago. Wedding gowns with leather belts! It’s a gorgeous look to adorn your wedding gown with a crystal belt, or a thick ribbon sash (I especially love it when it’s added right before the reception for a completely new look!

But what about leather belts? It’s a gorgeous option for a rustic style outdoor wedding. I love the look at a farm wedding when it’s more practical to wear cowboy boots than it is to wear stiletto heels, but I also love it as something a bit more fashion forward on a traditional ballgown – a black, thick leather belt with huge silver buckle could add a haute couture style look or even something a bit rock and roll.

Raspberry pink is one of my favourite colours. The delicious richness of the colour is not quite fuchsia, not quite red and sits happily with it’s deep dark undertones. Pair it with red for something bright and unexpected, white for easy chic and a mixed bunch of orange and fuchsia blooms for something modern and bold. The bright vivid shade would even work with modern grey tones or sparkly golds.

Online store Ruche has always been a favourite of mine with their vintage inspired gowns and when they released their bridal collection I knew it was going to be something special.

The collection is magic- from vintage shapes to vintage detailing. Lace, embroidery, fabrics, they all echo the beautiful vintage eras that Ruche is so good at revisiting. From tea length gowns to the more typical full length ball gowns, Ruche has a collection of eighteen wedding gowns to kick off the collection. Audrey is an absolute favourite.

Even the bridesmaids get a look in- with fun patterns and jewel tones (and most are priced at $100) and come in so many different shapes that you can get the best look for different body shapes.

I am always a fan of the gorgeous bold jewels from Elva Fields and the newest collection- ‘Living History’ embodies jewel like colours. Designer Emily Wheat Maynard was inspired by the vintage pieces she includes in each design and her love of all things natural. Personally, I think these make for a beautiful wedding day accessory (perhaps adding colour to a simple gown, switching out a traditional style necklace for something fun and bold at the reception and even for your bridesmaids).

I love the range of bridal whites Emily has incorporated into the new collection- from bleached wooden discs, pearls, glass and and textured stones. They’re set off by vintage rhinestone brooches, vintage earrings and bold brooches. I can never go past the injection of colour though- vivid African blues, citrus yellows and sherbet oranges.

Elva Fields consists of three lines.
