Garden Gorgeous

by Polkadot Bride

The sweetest groom to be emailed me a little while ago searching for a secret garden style venue. While we found a few possibilities he also asked for garden wedding decorating ideas. A garden doesn’t need much decoration- the greens of the plants and colourful blossoms are often enough But there are a few special touches you can add.

Here are a few of my favourites…

You could also:

- Make tissue paper pom poms (a la Martha Stewart) in different shades of your wedding colours

- Use paper bag luminaries with candlelight to mark paths and light your reception

- Hang long strands of crystals from tree branches, the facets will glint in the sunlight

- Place mason jars on the ground or hung off shepherd’s hooks and dot them around the garden

Hi!! I’m having a garden wedding next April, and because the buildings are heritage listed, I can’t attach anything anywhere to hang lamps or lanterns. I’m currently thinking that tall shepherds hooks in big pot plants could work? Anyway, do you know where I might be able to find shepherds hooks? Any help would be amazing!

  2. Claire- Firstly try garden centres, Spotlight, Lincraft and Bunnings. Also try the garden/outdoor section of Target, Kmart and Big W.

If you have no luck there try these sites

    Hope that helps!

    Also try your florist :)
