Blush and Black Ball
by Polkadot Bride
I am not normally one to pair black and pink together, but I was particularly inspired by this photo from Petrina Tinslay. Instead of limiting this colour palette to fuchsia and black, I added in pinks of all shades to soften the bright colour and mix it up a little.
Adding the mishmash of pinks with the one neutral (in this case black) can give you a really beautiful look – instead of limiting yourself to one block colour your can throw in graduating shades – each piece will still come together, but it’s a lot more inviting!
Black is always incredibly dramatic- I envisage plenty of cocktails under chandeliers at this wedding! Choose black glassware and dramatic black ballgowns to soften the femininity of the pink.

Pink and Chocolate Beach Wedding Celebration
by Polkadot Bride
Lauren requested a cream, chocolate and pink inspiration board for her sister’s beach wedding. Although Lauren’s sister is using dusty pink bridesmaids dresses (and I chose chocolate for this board) I think either combination can work. The chocolate and pink take on a rustic glamour feel when paired with the neutrals of the seaside and the soft taupe and creams bring back the romance of the seaside.

Charming Cream & Chocolate
by Polkadot Bride
Today’s board is a request from a little while ago- a colour palette of chocolate brown, grey, pale blue & cream. I took an urban edge to this board, inspired by the picture of Keira Knightley and then added a feminine touch.

Valentine’s Day Picnic Wedding
by Polkadot Bride
Red heart Macarons from Williams Sonoma, Photo by EyeSpy Photography via Snippet & Ink, Photo by Stacy Kane, card fromĀ dazeychic on Etsy, Bouquet from Brides, cake from Martha Stewart, red drink from Elizabeth Anne Designs.
My favourite way to spend Valentine’s Day is a picnic overlooking the water. I love the sun beaming down, the dappled light of the trees and the sweet smell of the sea breeze. I thought such a day of love deserved a special Sunday inspiration board!
I seem to be on a red kick lately with boards (requested boards coming soon!) but it seemed only fitting for this fun, picnic wedding! With plenty of sweet Valentine Day treats and quirky little details, I’d rather like to attend this wedding as a guest myself!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
