Spring Bouquet

I love this take on a spring bouquet. it still captures the essence of spring but brings a modern funky twist to it.
It appears I am suffering serious bloggers block. You see Polka Dot Bride is undergoing a redesign, I’m never patient when it comes to design (mainly because more often than not I know exactly what I want but don’t have the graphic design or web design skills to pull it off!)
So I’m withholding a whole lot of great inspiration because I know it will look so much better on our new page! Of course my brain gets full and bits and pieces fall out, alas I even found a notebook yesterday full of readings, theme ideas and even a table setting I drew years ago- THAT was fun!
While I’m (you’re) waiting, what inspires you most with weddings? What do you love the most?

Bridal Expo Cupcakes..more…

For the bride that can’t get enough bling, the media featured a new bottled water over the weekend. Not just any water of course, this liquid is known as ‘couture water’.
Designed and developed by Kevin G. Boyd- a Hollywood producer & writer. Bling H2O is spring water from Tennessee. It’s an award winner, winning the best tasting water in the world at the recent Berkeley Springs International Water Festival.
But back to the bling for the bride! Each Bling H2O bottled is encrusted with Swarovski crystals- the cork too! It comes in frosted glass bottles - if you fancy a Limited Edition bottle you can pick up coloured versions like Paris Pink and Pacific Opal.
It’s not for the budgeting bride, with bottles starting at US$24 for 750ml but the Bling H2O offers international shipping and it may be a way to just add an extra sparkle to your day.
Australia’s favourite TV daughter Sally (Kate Ritchie) on Home and Away prepares for her third wedding this week and she makes quite the blushing bride!
Bridesmaids played by characters Rachael, Leah & Cassie are dressed in Fleur Wood & Manning Cartel. They carried bouquets of white gardenias. Perfect for a beachside wedding.
Ric, the groom Brad and Dan dressed in finery
Sally and her girls. Sally chose a simple gown for her ‘third’ wedding.
The big question is (as always in TV Soap) will Sally walk down the aisle?

Among our favourite blogs (Blue Orchid Designs, Perfect Bound and others) we too at Polka Dot Bride are getting involved in Blog Action Day
Blog Action Day will take place on October 15th 2007 when bloggers around the world will blog on the same issue- in this case an important issue, the environment.
The Blog Action’s Website says
“On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.
Blog Action Day is about MASS participation. That means we need you! Here are 3 ways to participate:
* Post on your blog relating to the environment on Blog Action Day
* Donate your day’s earnings to an environmental charity
* Promote Blog Action Day around the web”
If you have a website, join the 3,757 bloggers already participating and simply make an entry about an environmental issue. The site has a ton of resources (including videos) to help you with your entry so get involved and make a difference!
Abbey has under two months to go until her big day and things are steam rolling along!
The invites have been sent so everything is starting to feel slightly surreal from all accounts.
The big dress is ordered and will be ready for pick up a few weeks before her big day- she’s still on the lookout for a lovely pair of green shoes though!
Spring has bloomed- not only in our gardens but also in the fashion stakes so the hunt for the perfect bridesmaids gown is on. Abbey is adamant she doesn’t want a typical bridesmaids gown and would prefer something off the rack.
Centerpieces have started to be designed- Abbey’s venue has beautiful old tables which covered with hessian and arrangements of herbs will be beautifully rustic.
Buckets filled with ice and bottles of San Pellegrino will add a celebratory and cool touch to the ceremony.
The seating chart is still on the to do list, but Abbey’s wedding is almost here and the exciting parts are setting themselves in motion!
PS. You might have spotted Abbey’s Wedding Inspiration board over at the Style Me Pretty blog contest- its worth checking out the others for some wonderful inspiration!
