Ooh, I love some of these and have taken notes
(Just hypothetically) if you wanted to do another one of these for walking down the aisle songs that’d be pretty useful too!
Two of ours are in your mix!
We are dancing together to “The man I love” sung by Billie Holiday, then with our parents to “This old love”, and then with everyone to “Perfect”!
We’ve been having a really hard time trying to figure out a song, but now here I am at my desk bawling my eyes out over Ben Folds’ “The Luckiest.” That’s the song! We both adore Ben Folds and often dance around the living room to his songs with our dogs. But if I am crying this much right now, how will I ever make it through the first dance without being reduced to a sobbing mess?
I’m a happy crier. I spent most of our engagement dinner with my face buried in tissues. Is crying through my entire wedding day poor form?
[…] is, until the fantastic Australian Wedding blog Polka Dot Bride posted a mixed tape of lovely songs for the first dance. When I came to the 5th song I started crying. Happy tears, of course. I am ever so grateful […]

I LOVE mixed tapes! The second song is my favorite! It was on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack years ago and I fell in love with it!

Drew- Gosh the Dawson Creek Days was when I first fell in love with that song!
Natalie- Your choices are perfect, especially ‘This Old Love’ for the parents- great taste!
Looks like there are certainly more mix tapes in store for the future!

Great mix!!! I haven`t even started to think about music yet (Actually I have done basically no thinking about my wedding hehe!)
Thanks for the link to making these also! Very cute! Might have to start thinking about it!
Although I will have to teach my fiance to dance before we actually start thinking about songs though!

Aww! I’m so glad it helped- and it’s lovely actually because being Aussie it’s a nod to your Australian life! It’s a beautiful song
I think some of the most beautiful wedding shots I’ve seen are full of emotion and crying, so no not bad form at all! Just beautiful!
