Stunning Succulents
Succulent bouquet photo by NK Photography
With the dry weather, succulents are ‘today’s’ plant. Their fleshy leaves and lovely varied colours will enhance any table setting.

The rosettes of Aeoniums are coloured a deep purple. Echeverias are small rosettes of grey ‘leaves’ sometimes with a dusty pink tinge in the cooler weather. Some are shaped like jelly beans and are bright green with orange/red tinges. Unusual colours are available, from lime green, to yellow, pink and red and bronze, as well as striped, crinkled or the tiniest, most delicate of leaves and rosettes.

The many and varied leaf shapes are part of the succulent family’s particular charm. Use them in a single variety in pots along a table. They look particularly effective when in rusted or distressed metal pots or in terracotta pots that have been lime washed in a subtle colour.

Their varied shapes are beautifully enhanced by crowding different varieties together in low arrangements, a wreath, or wired into your bouquet to enhance the blooms’ softness and colours.

Ooooh…those are stunning! I think the top one is my personal favorite, though I love them all – succulents are beautiful! Kind of how they say “pink is the new black”, I feel like “succulents are the new peony”…lol.
Cheers!

I love this new trend of using succulents in weddings. AND I love Jaime’s comment that “succulents are the new peony”! Too funny!
