Mel and Nick

Mel & Nick
I’m so thrilled to finally bring you the wedding of Mel & Nick today. The ever lovely Jonas Peterson gave me the “heads up” on their wedding a few months ago and i was eagerly awaiting the pictures, which were of course more beautiful that he conveyed.
Mel and Nick met at Nick’s 25th birthday party. They fell in love over mutual obscure music tastes!
Mel and Nick were married at a beautiful house (Hilly Ridge Homestead) in Milford in Queensland.
Photos today are by Jonas Peterson

A bus picked guests up from their hotels and transported them to the homestead- accessible only down a dirt road. Guests were only told the wedding would be at a “secret location”.

Mel’s accessories were all from various etsy sellers and Thousand Island Dressing in Brisbane.

Mel’s silver shoes were from a little store in Brisbane called “Imagination”.

Mel found her 1950’s wedding gown a few days before the wedding in a vintage store called Retro Metro Paddington. it fit like a glove and Mel adored it.

Mel carried a bouquet of fabric and rhinestones made by Design Whimsy on Etsy. She walked down the aisle to Lykke Li’s ‘A Little Bit’.

During the ceremony, a friend read “A Lovely Love Story” by Edward Monkton.

The ceremony was performed by Nick’s Aunt Bernice with vows written by Mel & Nick.

Check back this afternoon for the rest of Mel & Nick’s beautiful Queensland wedding!
